Position Summary

The Senior Finance Analyst will report to the VP, Finance and serve as a key resource for the Finance Division and operational leaders across the organization.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the organization’s annual budgeting and forecasting processes, partnering closely with department leaders to ensure financial plans align with strategic objectives.
  • Prepare timely, accurate financial reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory agencies, ensuring all compliance standards are met.
  • Perform comprehensive financial evaluations for new programs or service lines, assessing reimbursement, projected volumes, payor mix, operational costs, and capital requirements.
  • Analyze complex financial data—including revenue, expenses, and utilization trends—to uncover insights and recommend actions that strengthen financial performance.
  • Lead or participate in special initiatives assigned by senior leadership, providing financial expertise to enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Monitor budget-to-actual performance, investigate variances, and identify opportunities to optimize revenue and reduce costs.
  • Mentor and support junior financial analysts, fostering skill development and ensuring high-quality analytical output.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners in accounting, revenue cycle, operations, and other departments to support broader organizational goals.
  • Assist with long-range financial planning, including scenario modeling and strategic analyses to inform key leadership decisions.
  • Recommend process improvements and implement best practices to streamline financial workflows and improve operational efficiency.
  • Stay current on industry financial regulations, reimbursement methodologies, and reporting requirements to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related discipline required
  • Master’s degree or CPA certification preferred


Experience / Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or related fields
  • Prior experience in healthcare finance strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to work independently and generate meaningful insights from complex data
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with healthcare decision-support or cost-accounting platforms strongly preferred (e.g., Axiom, Kaufman Hall, Strata, EPSi, Trendstar, TSI)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and senior leadership
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentorship or supervision of junior staff
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in financial reporting and analysis
  • Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement, financial regulations, and industry standards preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a proactive, results-driven approach
  • Strong overall computer proficiency
