Tax Manager — Hybrid/Remote

A growing, entrepreneurial accounting firm is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join its expanding Private Client practice. Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of tax professionals in a high-performance, supportive environment
  • Partner with senior leadership on recruiting, training, and ongoing professional development
  • Foster a collaborative culture focused on excellence and continuous learning

Tax Compliance & Planning

  • Manage and review complex tax returns for:
  • Individuals
  • Trusts
  • Partnerships
  • Corporations
  • Private foundations
  • International entities
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and applicable international tax regulations
  • Develop and implement proactive tax strategies aligned with client financial and personal goals


Client Relationship & Advisory

  • Build trusted relationships with clients and serve as a primary tax advisor
  • Provide guidance on year-end planning, estate & gift strategies, and specialized planning opportunities
  • Advise senior leadership on tax implications related to investments, transactions, wealth planning, and major financial decisions


Technical Excellence

  • Stay current on evolving tax laws and regulatory guidance
  • Deliver high-quality review and oversight while supporting firm-wide best practices


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field
  • Active CPA license required
  • Minimum 8 years of tax compliance and planning experience
  • At least 1 year in a leadership/management capacity
  • Experience supporting high-net-worth or UHNW clients strongly preferred


Skills & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and international tax law
  • Proven ability to manage complex tax engagements and deliver strategic guidance
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with major tax/accounting platforms a plus (e.g., CCH or similar)
