Company Overview
Our client is a publicly traded organization operating at the intersection of real estate, retail, and consumer services, with a national footprint of owned and operated locations across the United States. The company has completed a strategic acquisition of a competing organization that includes 100+ retail locations, representing a major expansion of the company’s national platform.
To ensure successful integration and value realization from this acquisition, the organization is establishing a Post-Acquisition Integration Team which will be led by a Vice President of Program Management.
Position Overview
The Vice President of Program Management will lead the enterprise integration strategy following the acquisition of a competitor with more than 100 retail sites across the United States. This executive will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of integration activities including operational alignment, systems integration, real estate transition, financial processes, brand rollout, and organizational integration.
This leader will build and manage a centralized Program Management Office (PMO) responsible for coordinating cross-functional integration workstreams and ensuring execution across multiple departments including operations, IT, finance, real estate, marketing, and human resources.
The VP will directly manage 5–6 Program / Project Managers, each responsible for a defined integration workstream.
The role requires a strategic operator who can align executive stakeholders while also driving disciplined program execution across a complex multi-site retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
Integration Leadership
- Lead the enterprise integration strategy for the acquisition of 100+ retail locations across the United States
- Establish and manage the Post-Acquisition Integration Office (PMO)
- Define integration roadmap, milestones, and success metrics
- Drive value capture initiatives tied to acquisition synergies
Program Governance
- Implement program governance structures including executive steering committees, integration dashboards, and reporting cadence
- Manage enterprise integration timeline, budgets, risks, and dependencies
- Provide executive-level visibility into program health and milestone progress
Cross-Functional Execution
- Coordinate integration activities across key functional groups including:
- Retail operations
- Real estate & site transitions
- IT systems & infrastructure
- Finance & accounting
- HR & organizational integration
- Brand and marketing
- Supply chain and vendor management
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of 5–6 Program / Project Managers responsible for individual workstreams
- Establish program management standards, tools, and methodologies
- Ensure consistent execution and reporting across all integration initiatives
Retail Site Integration
- Oversee the transition and integration of 100+ acquired retail locations into the company’s operational framework
- Coordinate site conversions, operational process alignment, and systems migrations
- Ensure minimal disruption to store operations and customer experience
Executive Partnership
- Serve as the primary integration partner to executive leadership
- Present regular updates to the executive leadership team and board stakeholders
- Ensure integration activities align with broader strategic goals
Qualifications
- 12–15+ years of program management, transformation, or operational leadership experience
- Experience leading large-scale integration programs following acquisitions or mergers
- Experience within retail, multi-site operations, real estate, or consumer services environments strongly preferred
- Proven ability to manage complex enterprise programs involving multiple stakeholders
- Experience building and leading Program Management Offices (PMOs)
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing program or project teams

- Experience integrating multi-location retail businesses
- Experience working within publicly traded companies
- PMP, PgMP, or equivalent program management certification
