Position Summary
Resolute Elevator is seeking a knowledgeable and versatile Field Support Engineer to provide high-level support to field staff, assist with quality control corrections, and contribute to ongoing training programs. This role requires broad experience across multiple elevator systems (hydraulic, traction, MRL, modular), strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with vendors and manufacturers. The successful candidate will bridge the gap between field operations, QC, and engineering, ensuring that our installations and service work meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide remote and on-site technical support to field teams for installation, service, and troubleshooting.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with electrical, mechanical, and control systems across multiple manufacturers’ equipment.
- Act as the technical liaison with vendors and manufacturers to resolve defects, warranty issues, and product improvements.
Quality Control (QC) & Corrections
- Perform field inspections and audits to verify compliance with QC standards, drawings, and ASME/NEC/NFPA code requirements.
- Assist with QC punch list corrections and ensure proper documentation of corrective actions.
- Provide structured feedback to engineering and R&D teams to support continuous product improvement.
Training & Knowledge Transfer
- Develop and deliver training sessions for field personnel, covering troubleshooting, installation best practices, and product-specific guidance.
- Assist in creating and updating training manuals, QC checklists, and technical reference guides.
- Mentor junior technicians and serve as a go-to technical resource for complex problems.
Process Improvement
- Participate in root-cause analysis for recurring equipment issues.
- Recommend and implement process changes to improve installation efficiency and product reliability.
- Support the integration of new technologies and components into field operations.
Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of hands-on elevator industry experience across multiple equipment types.
- Strong ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
- Experience with QC inspections and correction processes in a construction or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with elevator codes and safety standards (ASME A17.1, NEC, NFPA).
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with field teams, vendors, and management.
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and manage priorities in both field and office settings.
Preferred:
- Experience in training or mentoring elevator technicians.
- Exposure to modular elevator systems and prefabricated construction.
- Background in technical support, QC, or commissioning roles.
- CET, NAESA, or QEI certifications.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems and documentation.
