We are looking for a seasoned service technician who can walk onto a job, read the equipment, and actually fix the problem. Troubleshooting is the heart of this position. Our portfolio runs heavily toward older equipment and a wide mix of controller makes and models, so we need someone who is comfortable in front of anything. 

Route: New York and New Jersey, moving between the two as needed 

Type: Full time, plus rotating night standby 

Qualifications

• Strong, proven troubleshooting ability. Can diagnose a fault and repair it, not just report it
• Several years of hands-on service and repair experience in the elevator industry
• Real working knowledge of older equipment and a variety of controller makes and models
• Current New York City and New York State elevator licenses 
• New Jersey licensing is a plus, since the route crosses both states 
• Works independently, makes the call in the field, and keeps the unit running 

Schedule 

• Regular daytime service route 
• Night standby coverage at least once a week, or once every two weeks 
• Able to jump between the New York and New Jersey sides of the route as the work requires
