Our company is entering a high-growth phase as we expand modular elevator manufacturing capacity, scale
into new markets, and formalize standardized, ISO-aligned processes across Engineering, Production, Procurement,
and Field Operations. The Modular Operations Manager is a newly created leadership role critical to this next stage
of growth.
This position serves as the operational bridge between Modular Production, Field Installations, Engineering,
QC/Safety, and Project Management, ensuring every modular elevator leaves the factory ready for first-pass
inspection success and is installed safely, efficiently, and to Company’s rising performance standards.
The Modular Operations Manager owns the full lifecycle of modular elevator operations: planning, production
readiness, field execution, manpower allocation, training, safety/QC program management, installation methods,
and continuous improvement.
Core Responsibilities
1. Operational Leadership & Manpower Management
- Lead daily and long-range manpower planning for modular installation crews.
- Assign teams based on schedule baselines, crane dates, site readiness, and forecasting.
- Conduct pre-install planning meetings and routine coordination with Superintendents, technicians, and Production leadership.
- Coach and develop field and production personnel with an emphasis on safety, quality, and technical rigor.
2. Modular Production & Installation Oversight
- Own site readiness verification prior to mobilization, including all Work-By-Others requirements.
- Lead field execution planning and support for:
- Staging and rigging
- Crane picks & tower setting
- Wiring, cabling, and machine space integration
- Adjustments, commissioning prep, and inspection readiness
- Ensure SOPs, lift plans, safety procedures, and QC checklists are followed without exception.
- Partner closely with Production to ensure modules leave Burlington in inspection-ready condition.
3. Quality Assurance, Safety & Compliance
- Drive Company's modular QC program, including checklists, punchlist reduction, and first-pass inspection performance.
- Support or lead site audits, incident reviews, corrective actions, and safety investigations.
- Maintain a zero-incident culture across all modular activities.
- Coordinate with third-party inspectors (NTA/Intertek) when modular field or production activities intersect with rated assemblies, UL/Intertek testing, or state modular program requirements.
4. Cross-Functional Project Coordination
- Coordinate daily with Project Managers on schedule alignment, inspections, field issues requiring escalation, and site conflict resolution.
- Work with Procurement & Logistics to ensure all equipment, rigging gear, controllers, cabs, and specialty components arrive on schedule.
- Communicate proactively with GCs, inspectors, and owners regarding status, constraints, and readiness.
5. Process Development, SOP Ownership & Continuous Improvement
- Own and continuously refine SOPs for modular production, shipping, staging, installation, and inspection prep.
- Capture lessons learned and feed improvements to Engineering (design for installation), Production (build sequence standardization), and Project Management (schedule templates).
- Establish and lead KPI dashboards tied to cycle times, installation duration, inspection performance, rework reduction, and safety.
- Develop training materials and hands-on curriculum for technicians, apprentices, and lead installers.
Career Growth
This role is a key leadership position within our expanding modular division and offers significant advancement
potential as Company scales. High performers will have opportunities to grow into Senior Modular Operations
Manager, Regional Modular Operations Manager, or future Director-level roles as we expand into new markets and
increase production capacity. Advancement is based on measurable performance, leadership capability, and
contributions to improving safety, quality, and installation efficiency.
