Inside Sales Manager

A growing elevator services company is seeking an Inside Sales Manager to lead and grow its repair and modernization proposal and inside sales efforts. This role is responsible for managing inside sales resources, driving repair sales, and ensuring opportunities from the field are developed into proposals and closed business.
This position is both a manager and a producer — overseeing inside sales processes and personnel while also participating in proposal development, customer follow-up, and sales coordination.
The primary goal of this role is to increase repair sales revenue by improving lead flow, proposal follow-up, and overall inside sales organization.
Responsibilities:
Inside Sales Leadership & Resource Management
- Manage and lead two inside sales team members.
- Allocate proposal workload and ensure timely turnaround on repair, modernization, and compliance proposals.
- Coordinate with repair, operations, and compliance departments to ensure accurate estimates and proposals are developed.
- Improve and help build inside sales processes, tracking systems, and follow-up procedures.
- Act as the central point of coordination for inside sales opportunities.
Sales & Proposal Development
- Review incoming repair and modernization opportunities and ensure they move toward proposal and sale.
- Follow up with customers on open proposals, answer questions, and help close work.
- Assist in preparing proposals using company templates and estimating information.
- Track opportunities through the pipeline from lead to close or loss.
- Maintain organized records of opportunities, proposals, and follow-up activity.
Lead Generation & Field Coordination
- Work closely with operations, superintendents, and mechanics to identify repair opportunities in the field.
- Encourage and help develop a system for field personnel to submit leads.
- Occasionally visit job sites or ride with field personnel to identify repair opportunities.
- Help develop budgeting proposals for customers based on field conditions and future repair needs.
Process Improvement & Strategy
- Help design and improve inside sales workflow and proposal process.
- Identify ways to increase repair sales volume and improve conversion rates.
- Contribute ideas and take ownership of improving the inside sales function.
Requirements:
- Elevator industry experience required (service, repair, modernization, operations, project management, or sales).
- Experience reviewing scopes, estimates, and repair proposals.
- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Ability to coordinate across departments (operations, field, sales, compliance).
- Customer communication and relationship skills.
- Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and process improvement mentality.
