Operations Foreman
Work hours for this position are typically Monday through Thursday 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, 40 Hours/Week with overtime as needed. At the Company’s expense, Overnight Travel is occasionally required to coordinate labor needs with project locations.
In this role the day-to-day responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- Maintain a problem-solving mentality, present a professional image, and be courteous at all times.
- Possess the ability to lead by example by presenting a professional attitude, respect for all stakeholders, capability to be discreet, and focus on the work at hand while minimizing costly distractions.
- Mentor/Train junior staff – Assist in skill development and assessment of Apprentice Technicians and Mechanics.
- Business Development – Contribute ideas to develop future growth strategies for modernizations, new installations, and service/ maintenance work.
- Perform equipment surveys and coordinate procurement.
- Continued willingness to master advanced skills such as complex wiring, troubleshooting, valve adjustment, door equipment adjustment, controller fire-up, performing pre-test inspections, and making final adjustments to equipment before the inspection. Complete required advanced skill training including CET and other Company-provided opportunities.
- Ensure all quality objectives and project deadlines are met.
- Manage multiple assigned crews and projects simultaneously while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Develop and foster communication with customers and vendors.
- Review project drawings, and layouts, and make all necessary revisions to ensure all equipment being ordered is compatible with contract specifications, and job-site conditions, properly sized, and meets Code requirements.
- Maintain communication with the Project Manager, and customer representatives regarding specific tasks and coordination with work by others.
- Assist the Project Manager in the scheduling and delivery process to confirm field technicians’ capability to perform work as directed and that materials are stored properly.
- Assist the Project Manager with scheduling tasks to be performed by others that fall under the NCDOL jurisdiction.
- Provide adequate notice to the Project Manager of all inspections to allow coordination with the General Contractor, Owner, other Resolute Elevator staff, Etc.
- Perform start-up procedures to allow for the use of new equipment to complete elevator installation.
- Review safety procedures when on-site to ensure the personal safety of mechanics and apprentices and the protection of equipment during construction.
- Perform all final testing with NCDOL. Work with the Project Manager on completing all quality control reports and compiling punch lists.
- Produce project schedules and manage Company resources to meet established deadlines.
- Create weekly and monthly project status reports and submit them to the Project Manager.
