Position Title: Contract / Project Engineer

Reports To: Director of Operations / Project Manager
Position Summary
Seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Contract/Project Engineer to support the successful execution of modular, modernization, and conventional elevator projects. This role serves as a key link between engineering, project management, field operations, and clients. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of elevator systems, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate technical requirements, contract compliance, and field execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Engineering & Coordination
- Review project contracts, specifications, and drawings to ensure technical compliance and identify scope gaps.
- Prepare and maintain engineering submittals, shop drawings, and technical documentation for project approvals.
- Coordinate between design teams, fabricators, vendors, and field staff to resolve technical questions.
- Verify all project engineering deliverables meet ASME A17.1, NEC, NFPA, and applicable building codes.
- Assist with field layout checks, anchor bolt verification, and installation sequencing for modular systems.
Contract & Client Support
- Support project managers in tracking contract deliverables, schedules, and milestones.
- Communicate with clients, general contractors, and AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) to address technical and compliance issues.
- Monitor change orders, clarifications, and RFIs, ensuring accurate documentation and timely resolution.
Quality & Compliance
- Participate in QC inspections and audits of modular elevator towers and site installations.
- Document non-conformances and support corrective action processes.
- Ensure contract scope and specifications are met without compromise to safety or quality.
Field & Technical Support
- Provide on-site and remote support during installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Assist field teams with technical clarifications, troubleshooting, and site coordination.
- Capture lessons learned and feed back into R&D and engineering standards.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5+ years of experience in elevator industry, construction, or project engineering.
- Strong understanding of elevator systems (hydraulic, traction, MRL, modular).
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents, shop drawings, and wiring diagrams.
- Knowledge of ASME A17.1, NEC, NFPA, and building codes.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills with clients and field staff.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Preferred:
- Experience with modular elevator systems and prefabricated structures.
- Familiarity with CAD and BIM/Revit software.
- Prior client-facing or contract review experience.
- PMP or other project management certification.
