Elevator Service / Modernization Branch Manager
Location: West Florida (Tampa / St. Petersburg / Central Florida Region)
Overview
We are a growing, non-union elevator company seeking a hands-on Branch Manager to lead our West Florida operations, including service, repair, and modernization. This is a working manager role for someone who has come up through the field as a mechanic and can lead people, manage operations, and step into the field when needed. Our West Florida territory covers a large portion of the state, including the Tampa Bay area, Orlando, Lakeland, Sarasota, Brooksville, Tarpon Springs, St. Petersburg, and surrounding areas, with additional opportunities in South Florida.
We are a small but well-respected company with strong customer relationships and significant growth opportunities. We are looking for someone who can help take this branch to the next level.
Responsibilities:
Branch Leadership Operations
● Manage and oversee both the service and modernization departments.
● Lead field technicians and support the sales team.
● Coordinate manpower, scheduling, and job priorities.
● Communicate daily with ownership on branch activity, needs, and performance.
● Help improve efficiency, urgency, and overall branch performance.
● Work closely with customers and maintain strong relationships.
Field Technical Support
● Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting when needed.
● Assist technicians in the field on difficult service issues or modernization jobs.
● Help “put out fires” and solve technical and customer problems.
● Step into service, repair, or modernization work when manpower is tight.
Modernization and Service Management
● Oversee modernization projects from planning through completion.
● Support service operations, including troubleshooting and route support.
● Ensure quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction across all work Team Leadership.
● Lead by example as a working manager.
● Help develop technicians and improve team performance.
● Work as a team player and help wherever needed (service, mod, or field support).
Requirements:
● Certified Elevator Technician (CET) license preferred
● Background as an elevator mechanic with strong troubleshooting skills
● Experience in both service and modernization
● Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
● Ability to manage people, projects, and customers
● Willingness to be hands-on and work in the field when needed
● Strong communication and organizational skills
● Self-motivated and able to operate with a high level of responsibility
