About the Role
This top GC is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for a Data Center project in Texas. For this project you will work onsite in the Midland, Texas area 3 weeks, then from your home office 1 week. Airfare home and travel expenses are covered and a generous per diem is available. As an APM, you’ll help take ownership of large‑scale data center builds, overseeing administrative and technical operations onsite. You’ll drive schedule certainty, maintain quality and commissioning standards, and ensure seamless coordination across trades—especially MEP partners.
Responsibilities:
• Work with the Sr. PM & Project Executive to construct a project schedule from start to finish by identifying long lead and specialty materials within the project.
• Review drawings, identify scope, and develop the sequence of construction.
• Work with the Estimator to develop bids and participate in project interviews
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors & vendors.
• Completes materials “take-offs”, establishes scope of works, develops and tracks material procurement schedule
• Review subcontractor/vendor proposals, compare proposals, and award projects to the most qualified subcontractors.
• Manage the project budget and overall profit margins. Revises monthly projects – WIP, and collects money.
• Prepare and run weekly progress meeting - identifying important topics and assigning tasks to effectively manage the project.
• Promote safety and ensure that the project adheres to our safety requirements.
• Work with the on-site Superintendent to deliver the highest possible quality and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
• 3-7 years of professional experience
• BA/BS degree required
• Mastery of reading blueprint drawings/specifications
• Previous Experience in an APM role
• Demonstrated business acumen with strong presentation skills
• Ability to maintain composure, professionalism, and objectivity in difficult situations and effectively resolve conflicts
• Collaborate and foster relationships with a customer service-oriented attitude
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Procore, and Adobe
