Certified Medical Assistant – Family Medicine | Patient-Centered Practice

Location: Masonboro, North Carolina

Masonboro Family Medicine is an independent, patient-focused family practice dedicated to serving the primary healthcare needs of individuals and families within our community. Our experienced and compassionate team provides comprehensive primary care, routine services, and minor urgent care in a supportive, collaborative environment.


We are currently seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) who demonstrates strong teamwork, accountability, and professionalism, and who thrives in a high-performing clinical practice. This role is ideal for a Medical Assistant who takes pride in quality patient care and enjoys working closely with providers and clinical staff.


Position Highlights

  • Opportunity to assist across multiple Masonboro Family Medicine locations as needed


Responsibilities

  • Assist providers during patient visits and clinical procedures
  • Administer therapeutic injections and vaccines via IM, SQ, and intradermal routes per protocol
  • Perform and assist with clinical procedures including:
  • Spirometry
  • Nebulizer treatments
  • Oxygen administration
  • EKGs
  • Holter monitor application, removal, and data processing
  • Perform TB skin test readings
  • Assist with prescription processing, prior authorizations, referrals, and patient messages in accordance with office protocols
  • Provide clinical coverage support when provider nursing staff is unavailable
  • Manage medication samples, including coordination with pharmaceutical representatives and removal of expired medications
  • Monitor and document refrigerator and freezer temperatures twice daily
  • Conduct monthly narcotic inventory logs and medication expiration checks
  • Clean and autoclave instruments weekly or as needed following standard protocols
  • Assist at other Masonboro Family Medicine office locations as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by clinical leadership or management


Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required
  • Previous experience in family medicine or primary care preferred
  • Strong clinical and procedural skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-based environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and clinical documentation standards
