Fountain Valley Emergency Physicians (FVEP) is seeking a Full-Time Emergency Medicine Physician to join our long-standing independent democratic physician group staffing the Emergency Department at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital in beautiful Orange County, California.

In an era of increasing consolidation by national staffing companies and private-equity-backed groups, FVEP remains intentionally physician-owned, physician-governed, and focused on creating long-term physician careers. Our physicians maintain a direct voice in clinical operations, scheduling, governance, and the future direction of the practice.

This is an opportunity to practice high-quality community emergency medicine while working alongside experienced physician partners in a stable, collaborative environment.

Position Highlights

• Independent Contractor (1099) - approximately 12–13 shifts per month
• $250/hour base compensation with Malpractice coverage provided

Practice Environment

Fountain Valley Regional Hospital serves a large and diverse Orange County population in a busy community emergency department setting. The staffing model is designed to support physician efficiency while maintaining high-quality patient care and patient flow.

• Approximately 44,000 annual patient visits
• Balanced Hybrid Physician and APP Coverage Model
• Physician Coverage: ~47.5 hours/day and APP Coverage: ~18 hours/day
• Approximately 120 patient visits per day with Epic EMR platform
• Strong specialty support and established hospital infrastructure

Candidate Qualifications

• ABEM or AOBEM Board Certified or Board Eligible
