Tenant Improvements Leader in Texas


About the Role

Our client is seeking a Leader in Tenant Improvements to drive growth and execution in the Texas market. This individual will oversee all aspects of tenant improvement (TI) projects while building strong client relationships and generating new business. It’s a high-impact role with the autonomy to lead projects, guide teams, and shape strategy for long-term success in the region.


What You’ll Do:

Business Development and Client Relations

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, media outreach, industry events, and referrals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, architects, property managers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead proposal efforts, RFP responses, and presentations to win new projects.
  • Represent the organization at industry functions and community events to enhance visibility and reputation.

Project Leadership and Oversight

  • Direct all aspects of tenant improvement project delivery including preconstruction, scheduling, budgeting, vendor management, and quality control.
  • Monitor timelines, deliverables, and costs to ensure successful project completion and a strong client experience.
  • Manage and mitigate risks across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Collaborate with internal teams—architecture, estimating, project management, and field operations—to ensure alignment and flawless execution.

Team and Subcontractor / Vendor Management

  • Lead and support project teams, including project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and growth.
  • Maintain a strong network of vendors and subcontractors and negotiate favorable terms and performance standards.

Strategic Market Leadership

  • Develop and execute strategies to grow market share and profitability within the Texas market.
  • Analyze market trends, competition, and customer needs to inform business strategy.
  • Serve as a key voice in shaping the regional tenant improvement offering.


What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years in commercial construction with a strong focus on tenant improvements.
  • 3+ years in a leadership role managing people and business development.
  • Proven track record of leading projects successfully from preconstruction through completion.
  • Established client network in the Texas commercial real estate and construction markets.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel within Texas to client meetings and project sites as needed.
  • Business development experience with measurable success in growing accounts.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred).
