Our client is a fast-growing consumer goods and eCommerce company that is scaling rapidly and building out a strong leadership team. They are looking for a Vice President of Accounting to lead the accounting function and play a key role in shaping the company’s financial operations and long-term success.


This executive will oversee all aspects of accounting, ensure financial accuracy and compliance, and build scalable processes to support continued growth. The VP of Accounting will also serve as a strategic partner to the executive team, driving insights that influence business decisions and future planning.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily accounting operations: general ledger, AP/AR, reconciliations, payroll, and fixed assets.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, delivering accurate and timely results.
  • Manage U.S. and international entity consolidations, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Review and analyze financial statements, reports, and reconciliations under GAAP (IFRS a plus).
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Partner with executive leadership on financial strategies, budgets, and forecasting.
  • Provide analysis and insights to guide critical business and growth decisions.
  • Manage annual audits and relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and regulators.
  • Stay up to date on accounting standards and compliance requirements.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing accounting team.
  • Evaluate and implement systems, tools, and process improvements to scale operations.
  • Oversee cash flow planning to support stability and growth.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance leadership, ideally within eCommerce, consumer goods, or retail.
  • Strong technical accounting background with deep GAAP knowledge (IFRS a plus).
  • Experience with multi-entity consolidations, including international operations.
  • Proven ability to lead teams in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence executives.
  • Hands-on and proactive, with the ability to execute while driving strategy.


Location & Work Environment

This position offers remote flexibility, with standard collaboration across U.S. time zones. Preference is given to candidates located near a major metro hub for occasional in-person collaboration with leadership.
