Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Consulting: Serve as the lead scientific expert, challenging client thinking respectfully and providing strategic guidance to medical and marketing teams within pharmaceutical and biotech organizations.
  • Scientific Translation: Confidently translate complex clinical data, scientific concepts, and regulatory nuances into clear, compelling, and actionable commercial or communications strategies.
  • Client Engagement: Lead high-level scientific discussions and presentations with clients, including pharma medical staff, demonstrating the ability to think on your feet and adapt in real-time.
  • Scientific Accuracy & Review: Ensure the scientific and clinical accuracy of all agency output, maintaining a solid understanding of the therapeutic areas, particularly within Rare Disease and/or Vaccines (one or both areas required).
  • HCP & Rare TA Expertise: Utilize extensive experience working across HCP (Healthcare Professional) and Rare Therapeutic Areas to inform strategic recommendations.
  • Communication & Presentation: Maintain a buttoned-up, polished, and assertive communication style across all client and internal interactions.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree Required: MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent advanced scientific or clinical degree.
  • Therapeutic Focus: Demonstrated expertise in the Rare Disease and/or Vaccine therapeutic areas.
  • Agency Experience: Prior agency experience in pharma/healthcare communications, medical affairs, or medical education.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to engage with medical, clinical, and marketing teams at a high level, comfortably standing toe-to-toe in complex scientific debates.
  • Professionalism: Strong presentation and interpersonal skills, reflecting a confident, assertive, and strategic collaborator.
  • Flexibility: Must have a flexible schedule and be able to accommodate fluctuating work hours and client demands as needed for a long-term consulting partnership.
