Rate: $70-100/hr DOE (w2)

Clutch is looking for a VP, Brand Strategy with pharmaceutical advertising or marketing client experience for a client of ours.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of foundational brand strategies, including core brand positioning, value propositions, and strategic messaging platforms for product launches and inline growth across therapeutic areas.
  • Drive deep understanding of both HCP and DTC/Patient audiences, translating research and data into actionable, audience-centric strategies.
  • Conduct rigorous competitive and market analyses to identify white-space opportunities, potential threats, and strategic pathways for brand differentiation.
  • Partner with Media, Engagement, and Analytics teams to translate brand strategy into cohesive omnichannel marketing plans, ensuring message consistency and pull-through across all channels (digital, social, traditional)
  • Serve as the senior strategic lead and a key client-facing representative, challenging client thinking, providing expert counsel, and fostering long-term strategic relationships with senior-level brand teams.
  • Lead the strategic development and pitch presentations for new business opportunities, showcasing the agency’s strategic capabilities and industry expertise.
  • Ensure all strategic recommendations are developed with a thorough understanding of the pharmaceutical regulatory landscape (FDA guidelines, HIPAA), working closely with MLR partners.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external teams to guide creative development and execution, ensuring all outputs are strategically sound and align with the approved positioning.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and synthesis of primary and secondary research to uncover profound customer insights.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in brand strategy and/or brand planning within a pharmaceutical agency.
  • Expertise in both HCP & DTC marketing strategies for pharmaceuticals.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading major product launch strategies and managing multiple brands.
  • Experience with market research methodologies, data analysis, and translating complex scientific/clinical information into marketing strategies.
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complexity.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing, mentoring, and developing a team of strategic professionals.
