Role: Creative Director, Copy (Agency)

Location: Remote (MUST be located in the U.S.)

Contract-to-Hire

Rate: $55-75/hr (w2)

Converting to $130-180k DOE (w2)

Clutch is looking for an Creative Director, Copy with advertising or marketing agency experience for a client of ours.


Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the visionary creative lead and strategic partner for the agency’s clients.
  • Lead the conceptualization of enterprise-level brand identities and "big idea" platforms.
  • Drive the creative strategy and execution for launches, ensuring the brand’s narrative is flawlessly integrated across all channels.
  • Partner with agency executive leadership to define the strategic direction.
  • Oversee the evolution of the brand voice throughout its lifecycle, ensuring messaging remains competitively differentiated.
  • Foster a high-performing creative culture by managing and mentoring a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Cultivate deep, trust-based relationships with senior client stakeholders, serving as a consultant on creative strategy and market positioning.
  • Oversee the creative integrity of multichannel ecosystems, ensuring consistency.
  • Champion innovation within the agency, identifying emerging trends in marketing.

Requirements:

  • 8-10+ years of experience in an advertising or marketing agency with a proven track record in a senior creative leadership.
  • Extensive portfolio showcasing conceptual work and the successful leadership.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or Similar.
  • Oversee and lead across channels, including video scripts, influencer campaigns, and partnerships.
  • Experience with sports, athletics industries a BIG plus!
  • Previous experience leading pitches and concepting strongly preferred.
  • Ability to build a team internally, mentoring and training for success.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to manage teams and complex accounts.
  • Superior presentation and storytelling skills, with the ability to inspire both internal teams and C-suite client executives.
  • Willingness to start in a contract capacity with potential to convert to a full-time employee.
