Role: Director of Software Engineering (Client Solutions)

Location: Greater Philadelphia, PA

Hybrid/On-site/Remote: Hybrid (On-site 2-3 days a week)

Clutch is looking for an experienced Director of Software Engineering (Client Solutions) for a client of ours—a consulting firm focused on delivering high-quality, accountable solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Technical Authority: Serve as the chief technical leader in client meetings, effectively presenting architectural solutions, explaining engineering decisions, translating business needs into technical requirements, and providing accountable project updates.
• Coding & Standards: Write and maintain production-level code while setting the technical standards, system design best practices, and overall architecture for the development team.
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor distributed or overseas development teams, ensuring high code quality, adherence to schedules, and on-time delivery of all components.
• Collaboration: Partner with the design team to clearly document requirements, technical architecture, and development workflows.
• Accountability: Build and maintain strong client trust by connecting clearly, communicating progress transparently, and taking full accountability for all technical deliverables and successful outcomes.
• Process Oversight: Oversee technical documentation, lead rigorous code reviews, and balance hands-on development work with management responsibilities.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 8+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 3+ years in a Director or technical leadership role.
• Client Management: Proven ability to present complex technical solutions to clients and stakeholders, connecting well and taking complete ownership of project deliverables.
• Communication: Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in clear, actionable terms to all audiences.
• Team Leadership: Demonstrated ability to code at a professional level while successfully leading and mentoring distributed or overseas teams.
• Process Skills: Excellent documentation and organizational skills.
• Required Technical Expertise in Laravel, React, PHP and others.
