Location: Remote (EST- MUST be in PA, NJ, NY!)

Salary: $150-170k DOE (w2)

Clutch is looking for an ACD, Copy with pharmaceutical advertising or marketing agency experience for a client of ours.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the editorial and conceptual lead for high-science pharmaceutical brands, overseeing the development of clinical content for healthcare professionals (HCPs) in categories including oncology, rare disease, and neurology.
  • Lead the creation of breakthrough creative concepts that translate complex mechanisms of action and sophisticated clinical data into compelling, high-impact brand stories.
  • Direct the copywriting for major pharmaceutical product launches, ensuring the core scientific platform is consistently and powerfully pull-through across all multichannel touchpoints.
  • Oversee the evolution of brand messaging through various lifecycle stages, ensuring all copy remains clinically accurate, strategically sound, and competitively positioned.
  • Partner closely with the ACD, Art to lead a cross-functional creative team, fostering a collaborative environment that produces award-winning, strategically driven work.
  • Collaborate with Medical Directors and Strategy leads to distill complex clinical trial data and peer-reviewed literature into actionable insights for specialist audiences.
  • Lead client presentations at a senior level, defending conceptual directions and articulating how the creative work solves specific business and clinical challenges.
  • Mentor and manage junior to mid-level copywriters, providing clear creative direction and professional development to elevate the department’s overall output.
  • Navigate the MLR review process with expertise, finding innovative ways to communicate brand benefits while adhering to strict FDA requirements.
  • Drive the development of multichannel campaign ecosystems, ensuring the brand voice is optimized.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of copywriting experience within a pharmaceutical advertising agency, with a significant focus on HCP audiences.
  • Proven expertise in high-science therapeutic areas, specifically oncology, rare disease, and/or neurology.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing conceptual "big idea" thinking and successful execution across pharmaceutical integrated multichannel campaigns in required for consideration!
  • Direct experience leading at least one major pharmaceutical product launch from strategic positioning through execution.
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Science, or a related field.
  • Expert-level understanding of the MLR approval process and the ability to proactively manage references and annotations.
  • Exceptional presentation skills and the ability to build strong, consultative relationships with senior pharmaceutical clients.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including the ability to manage multiple brands and workstreams simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Strategic mindset with a passion for staying ahead of industry trends and emerging digital platforms within the pharmaceutical space.
