Job Title: Supply Chain Manager
Location: Los Angeles, CA
The Supply Chain Manager will lead and optimize end-to-end supply chain strategy, planning, and execution for new and existing neuromodulation medical device products. This role ensures uninterrupted material availability, strong supplier performance, cost control, and regulatory compliance while supporting rapid operational growth. The Supply Chain Manager will drive strategic sourcing, risk mitigation, and operational excellence, collaborating closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, and Finance teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supply Chain Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute the overall supply chain strategy aligned with company growth and commercialization plans
- Lead supply planning, sourcing strategy, inventory management, and logistics operations
- Establish scalable processes to support transition from development to commercial production
- Build and manage supplier and contract manufacturer relationships to ensure long-term strategic alignment
- Define and track KPIs including on-time delivery, inventory turns, cost reduction, and supplier performance
- New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Own supply chain readiness for new product development and commercialization
- Define and implement NPI sourcing strategies, including supplier identification, qualification, and risk mitigation
- Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing during design transfer to ensure manufacturability and supply continuity
- Oversee procurement of prototype, validation, and pilot materials
- Implement launch inventory strategies to support successful product introduction
- Sustaining Product Supply & Lifecycle Management
- Lead supply chain operations for commercialized products
- Manage forecasting, procurement, inventory planning, and logistics
- Address supplier performance issues, obsolescence risks, and cost optimization initiatives
- Support supplier-related investigations, nonconformances, and CAPAs
- Implement lifecycle strategies to support product scaling and long-term continuity
- Supplier & Contract Manufacturer Management
- Identify, qualify, negotiate, and manage suppliers and contract manufacturers in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Establish and maintain quality agreements and supply contracts
- Monitor supplier KPIs and lead performance improvement initiatives
- Support supplier audits, regulatory inspections, and change control activities
- Develop dual-sourcing and risk mitigation strategies for critical components
- Procurement & Inventory Optimization
- Oversee procurement planning aligned with demand forecasts and production schedules
- Optimize inventory levels to balance cash flow, risk, and production readiness
- Implement ERP/MRP best practices for material planning and control
- Ensure traceability, lot control, and documentation compliance for regulated products
- Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure supply chain activities comply with 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, and company QMS requirements
- Conduct supplier risk assessments and supply continuity planning
- Lead contingency planning for supply disruptions and single-source dependencies
- Participate in management reviews and regulatory readiness activities
- Cross-Functional Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Serve as the supply chain representative in design reviews, change review boards, and management reviews
- Drive cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality or compliance
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce lead times, and enhance supplier reliability
- Mentor and develop supply chain personnel as the organization scales
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred)
• 7+ years of progressive supply chain experience, preferably in medical devices or other regulated industries
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing suppliers, contract manufacturers, and cross-functional initiatives
• Extensive experience supporting NPI, design transfer, and commercial product supply
• Strong knowledge of medical device regulatory requirements (21 CFR 820, ISO 13485)
• Experience in startup or high-growth environments
• Experience managing global or multi-site supply chains
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and demand planning tools
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills
• Ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on in execution
