About the role
We are seeking an experienced Certified Financial Planner to deliver comprehensive, fiduciary financial planning to a diverse client base. You will lead client relationships end-to-end—from discovery and plan design through implementation and ongoing reviews—while collaborating with our investment, tax, and operations teams. This role is ideal for an advisor who is client-centric, tech-savvy, and comfortable working in a metrics-driven, remote environment.
What you’ll do
- Provide comprehensive financial planning: retirement, cash flow/budgeting, investment strategy, insurance/risk management, tax planning (non-prep), estate planning coordination, education funding, equity compensation, and charitable planning.
- Conduct discovery, data gathering, and analysis; build and deliver financial plans using leading planning software.
- Create and maintain Investment Policy Statements; propose and implement asset allocation aligned with client goals and risk tolerance.
- Lead client reviews (at least semiannual), monitor progress, and adjust plans for life changes and market conditions.
- Coordinate with outside professionals (CPAs, attorneys, insurance specialists) and internal teams to implement recommendations.
- Maintain meticulous documentation and meet compliance, fiduciary, and recordkeeping standards (CFP Board, SEC/FINRA as applicable).
- Contribute to new client acquisition and growth through referrals, webinars, content, and COI relationships (no cold-calling quotas).
- Track and meet relationship KPIs (client satisfaction, retention, plan delivery timelines, net new assets).
- Stay current on planning strategies, tax law, and market developments; complete required CE.
- Use secure, compliant processes and tools for remote client service and data protection.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, financial planning, accounting, economics, or related field.
- Active CFP certification in good standing.
- 5+ years of client-facing financial planning experience, including leading comprehensive plans and implementations.
- Demonstrated success managing a book of client relationships with strong retention and growth.
- Strong knowledge of portfolio construction, tax-aware strategies, retirement income planning, and risk management.
- Excellent communication, empathy, and presentation skills; able to explain complex topics simply.
- Comfortable operating in a digital-first, remote environment.
Licenses and compliance
- Series 65 or 66 (or ability to obtain within 90 days) and eligible for state Investment Adviser Representative registration as required.
- Insurance licenses (life/health, annuity) a plus but not required, depending on firm model.
- Clean U4 and background; adherence to CFP Board Code of Ethics and fiduciary standard.

- Financial planning: eMoney, MoneyGuidePro, or RightCapital.
- CRM and workflow: Salesforce, Redtail, or similar.
- Portfolio/reporting: Orion, Black Diamond, Tamarac, or similar.
- Communication: Zoom/Teams, secure client portal, e-signature.
- Productivity: Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace; secure document management and eVault.
Success metrics
- Client satisfaction (NPS/CSAT) and retention.
- Timely delivery of plans and reviews.
- Net new assets/revenue from planning engagements.
- Compliance audit readiness and documentation quality.

Work schedule and remote setup
- Core collaboration hours: 9am–5pm in your local U.S. time zone, with flexibility for client needs.
