Job Title: Molding Process Engineering Manager

Location: Rochester, NY (Onsite)

Reporting Structure: Reports to senior site leadership; leads a team of Process Engineers and Molding Technicians within a multi-shift manufacturing operation.

Compensation Range: $90,000 – $130,000 base + bonus

Travel Requirements: Minimal


A global manufacturer serving the medical device, pharmaceutical, and biotech industries is seeking a Molding Process Engineering Manager to support a high-growth, highly regulated production environment. The organization partners with leading healthcare companies to deliver precision-engineered components that directly impact patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead injection molding process development, optimization, and standardization using scientific molding principles.
  • Own process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), mold trials, and production readiness.
  • Provide technical leadership for troubleshooting complex molding, tooling, and automation challenges.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Quality, Tooling, Manufacturing, and NPI teams.
  • Drive improvements in OEE, downtime reduction, and overall operational performance.
  • Lead capital equipment evaluation, selection, and implementation.
  • Establish standardized process documentation, setup sheets, and control plans.
  • Support quality investigations, CAPAs, and process-related defect resolution.
  • Serve as a technical interface with customers regarding molding processes.


Must-Have Requirements

  • 7+ years of injection molding experience, including process development and optimization.
  • Proven leadership experience managing engineers and/or technical teams.
  • Strong expertise in scientific molding and data-driven process control.
  • Deep knowledge of molding equipment, tooling, and automation systems.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to lead multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.


Nice-to-Have / Preferred

  • Medical device or regulated manufacturing experience.
  • Scientific molding certification.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • Proficiency with Minitab, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
