3rd Shift Production Supervisor
Location: Rochester, NY / On-site, full-time (overnight schedule)
Industry: FDA-regulated manufacturing environment
Travel: Minimal
Reports to: Production Manager
Direct Reports: 23-29 FTE’s (operators, material handlers, temporary staff)
Compensation: $75K - $85K Annual salary + 7.5% variable compensation
About the Role
A growing, process-driven manufacturer is hiring a 3rd Shift Production Supervisor to oversee all overnight operations. This leader will manage production staff, ensure safety and quality standards are met, and drive efficiency across lines to meet business objectives.
This position offers strong visibility to senior leadership and the opportunity to shape performance and culture on a key production shift.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead and coach 3rd shift production staff to achieve goals in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
· Plan and manage staffing, workflow, and resources to meet daily production targets.
· Monitor process performance and resolve issues in real time.
· Drive Lean and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and enhance efficiency.
· Coordinate with other shifts to ensure seamless handoffs and consistent standards.
· Maintain accurate shift reporting, production metrics, and improvement plans.
· Partner with HR and Operations leadership on hiring, performance reviews, and development plans.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred; or equivalent experience.
· 3–5 years of manufacturing experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
· Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, regulated production environment.
· Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
· Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
· Experience with RedZone, Ignition, or SAP ERP systems a plus.
