HUD Specialist

(Field Construction Technician)

Location: Rochester, NY region (Onsite, field-based role)

Industry: Residential real estate operator with a large multi-community portfolio

Travel Requirements: Local travel between community sites

Reporting Structure: Reports to Field Operations / Installation Leadership

Compensation: $20–24/hr + benefits + company vehicle (DOE)


About the Opportunity

A rapidly growing real estate organization with an extensive portfolio of manufactured housing communities is seeking a HUD Specialist (Manufactured Home Finisher) to support the final stages of new home installations. This hands-on role is essential to ensuring newly delivered homes are finished, safe, and ready for residents.


This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in craftsmanship, and thrives in an environment where no two days look the same. You’ll play a central role in preparing homes for move-in—performing installation, repair, and finishing tasks that directly impact the quality and experience of each resident.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install skirting around newly delivered homes
  • Unpack and install appliances
  • Connect utilities underneath homes
  • Repair trim or finish work damaged during transport
  • Perform drywall repairs
  • Complete miscellaneous carpentry tasks
  • Assist service, infill, and other operational teams as needed
  • Maintain clean, safe, and compliant work areas
  • Perform additional duties as assigned


Must-Have Requirements

  • Comfortable working outdoors 80–90% of the time in all weather conditions
  • High school diploma preferred
  • 2+ years of construction, carpentry, or related hands-on experience
  • Interest in long-term growth within property operations or maintenance
  • Valid, clean driver’s license
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills
