Distribution & Warehouse Operations Manager
Location: Rochester, NY | Onsite
Compensation: $115K – $135K annual salary + bonus
Reports to: Director, Materials Management
A growing and operationally complex manufacturing organization is seeking a Distribution & Warehouse Operations Manager to lead multi-site warehouse and distribution operations supporting North American manufacturing and customer fulfillment activities. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for a hands-on operations professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys building structure, accountability, and scalable processes across warehousing, transportation, and fulfillment operations.
This role will oversee three warehouse operations, outbound transportation to distribution centers, direct ship customer fulfillment, and 3PL overflow activities while partnering closely with cross-functional stakeholders across Production, Planning, Quality, Customer Service, Finance, and IT.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end warehouse and distribution operations across three sites, including receiving, put away, storage, inventory control, picking, packing, shipping, and transportation coordination
- Manage outbound transportation to North American distribution centers and direct ship customer fulfillment
- Oversee 3PL overflow operations and carrier performance management
- Drive inventory accuracy through cycle counting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Establish and maintain KPI-driven warehouse management systems and operational reporting
- Optimize warehouse layout, slotting, material flow, racking, and productivity initiatives
- Lead safety, compliance, SOP adherence, and operational best practices
- Partner cross-functionally with Production, Planning, Materials Management, Customer Service, Finance, IT, and Quality teams
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost, service, quality, and operational efficiency
- Manage budgets, freight spend, warehouse labor planning, and capital improvement initiatives
Must-Have Qualifications
- 7+ years of warehousing, distribution, or logistics leadership experience
- Experience overseeing multi-site warehouse operations
- Strong transportation and outbound distribution experience
- Experience supporting distribution center networks and direct ship customer fulfillment
- ERP/WMS/TMS systems experience, preferably SAP
- Strong inventory control and warehouse process management background
- Experience leading teams in manufacturing or operational environments
- Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT/FMCSA, and warehouse safety practices
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to drive accountability, process improvement, and operational change
Preferred Qualifications
- Lean, Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, or related operational excellence experience
- APICS/ASCM CSCP or CLTD certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, or related field
- Experience with SAP IM/WM/EWM or transportation management systems
