Infill Specialist (Field Installation Technician)

 

Location: Rochester, NY region (Onsite + day travel between community sites)

Industry: Large-scale residential real estate operator with a multi-community portfolio

Travel Requirements: Regional day travel across multiple properties

Reporting Structure: Reports to Field Operations / Community Infrastructure Leadership

Compensation: $20–24/hr + benefits (DOE)


About the Opportunity

A growing real estate organization with an expansive portfolio of manufactured housing communities is seeking a skilled Infill Specialist to support new home installations and property revitalization projects. This hands-on role is central to preparing lots, installing utilities, operating heavy equipment, and ensuring communities remain safe, clean, and ready for new residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare lots for new installations, including clearing brush, debris, and outdated utilities
  • Install water, sewer, electric, and gas lines
  • Pour concrete pads; repair gravel driveways and walkways
  • Operate tractors, backhoes, trailers, and other heavy equipment
  • Maintain clean grounds, remove trash, and assist with snow removal
  • Track time, materials, and tasks using property management software
  • Oversee contractors to ensure work quality and safety
  • Conduct property walkthroughs and inspections
  • Maintain a safe, compliant work environment
  • Collaborate across teams to support infill and operational needs
  • Participate in ongoing training and development


Must-Have Requirements

  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to travel daily between multiple communities
  • 2+ years of experience in grounds, maintenance, or construction
  • Experience operating and maintaining heavy equipment
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to complete paperwork and updates using a tablet or smartphone
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Availability for overtime, emergency calls, or weekend work
