Systems Administrator


Location: Rochester, NY (Onsite with some flexibility)

Industry: Managed Services / IT Solutions

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Network Engineering Manager and works closely with a collaborative technical operations team. No direct reports.

Compensation: $70,000 – $90,000 base salary (depending on experience) + comprehensive benefits

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain client infrastructure including servers, systems, and networks
  • Execute project-based work including deployments, upgrades, and implementations
  • Apply OS patches, system updates, and maintain system performance
  • Serve as an escalation point for support desk tickets
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across hardware, software, and cloud environments
  • Support onboarding of new clients and system integrations
  • Maintain internal tools and systems
  • Document processes, configurations, and procedures
  • Perform proactive monitoring and maintenance across client environments
  • Participate in on-call rotation as needed

 

Must-Have Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in systems administration or IT support
  • Strong experience with:

o  Microsoft Windows (7–11) and Windows Server environments

o  Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Exchange Online

o  Active Directory and user management

  • Experience with virtualization (VMware or Hyper-V)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware and software
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

 

Nice-to-Have / Preferred

  • Experience in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ or Microsoft certifications
  • Experience with EDR/security tools and backup solutions
  • Exposure to project-based IT deployments
