Network Engineer

📍 Location: Multiple U.S. locations (Hybrid/Onsite depending on location)

✈ Travel: Occasional travel within the Northeastern U.S. for client support and project work

💰 Compensation: $70,000 – $90,000 base salary (depending on experience)

About the Opportunity

A growing technology services organization is seeking a Network Engineer to join its expanding engineering team. This role is ideal for a technically curious professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex networking environments, implementing infrastructure solutions, and working directly with customers to solve real-world technical challenges.

The Network Engineer will play a key role in designing, installing, and supporting modern networking environments, integrating on-premise infrastructure with cloud technologies while ensuring reliability, performance, and security.

Reporting Structure

This role reports into the engineering leadership team and collaborates closely with senior engineers, cloud engineers, and internal support teams while supporting a diverse portfolio of client environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network infrastructure issues
• Install, configure, monitor, and maintain networking equipment including firewalls, switches, and access points
• Support customer server environments and identity infrastructure
• Configure and troubleshoot DNS, DHCP, routing, and network protocols
• Assist in designing and implementing network architecture solutions
• Support hybrid infrastructure environments including Azure VMs, Azure VPN Gateways, Entra ID, and Microsoft Intune
• Provide documentation, diagrams, and configuration details for implemented solutions
• Perform on-site client visits for installation, troubleshooting, and remediation
• Assist with escalated issues from internal technical teams
• Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to engineering best practices

Must-Have Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field OR equivalent professional experience
• 2+ years of experience working with networking technologies
• Strong understanding of:
• IP addressing and subnetting
• VLANs and routing
• DNS and DHCP
• Active Directory and Entra ID
• Experience supporting Windows Server environments and Microsoft 365
• Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V
• Ability to troubleshoot networking and server-related issues
• Willingness to travel within the Northeastern U.S. when required

Nice-to-Have / Preferred

• Experience working with networking equipment such as:
• Cisco
• HP
• SonicWall
• Palo Alto
• Ubiquiti
• Experience with Azure infrastructure and hybrid cloud environments
• Familiarity with DUO authentication solutions
• Relevant certifications such as:
• CompTIA Security+ / Network+
• Microsoft AZ-104 or AZ-700
• Palo Alto PCNSA / PSNSE
