Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing supplemental support to on location as required. Standard shift is 9 am - 5 pm, however schedule flexibility is a must. Individuals should have experience in the following areas: general maintenance, light carpentry, plumbing, electrical, basic HVAC, and knowledge of safety procedures. This position reports directly to the SVP of Technology and Engineering, via the Senior Chief Engineer at the location, who will oversee the day-to-day duties and deployment of the individual to other properties.
Core hours are 9am - 5pm. This will adjust on an as needed basis, with as much notice as possible. On-duty hours may be driven by demand for support in the portfolio. Individual must be able to accommodate after hours and weekend work, and may be requested to respond 24/7, as back up to the assigned building engineering staff. Overtime is authorized as approved by supervisor and for emergencies.
Position Responsibilities:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Diagnose and perform minor and routine maintenance/repairs in a timely and professional manner.
• Complete assigned preventative maintenance. Maintain accurate records and documentation in electronic work order system.
• Respond to and complete corrective maintenance I service requests. Maintain accurate records and documentation in electronic work order system.
• Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, using snow blowers, and snow shovels, and spread snow melting chemicals.
• Perform effective emergency maintenance (after hours) as required and follow-up with email to building team, CE, and SVP.
• Be easily accessible by mobile phone and email at all times throughout work day.
• Make efficient and effective use of email communication with CE, SVP, and building teams being supported.
• Send end of day email with specific tasks completed to CE each day.
Position Qualifications:
• Must have high school education, equivalent, or trade school
• Must be able to understand, speak and write English
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
• Must have a dependable means of transportation to get to and from job sites at any time
• Must have general knowledge on portable devices (cell phone, tablets, etc)
• Must be computer literate
• Must be in good physical condition and have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to kneel, crouch, climb, crawl, etc. to reach items in need of repairs.
• Must be able tolerant of all extremes of hot and cold weather, as may be necessary
• Must have or obtain CFC Universal Certification within 90 days
Use of Tools:
Must be knowledgeable and skilled in the safe use and maintenance of the following:
• Hand tools: Various wrenches, screwdrivers, grips, sledge hammer, hammer, snips, saws, etc.
• Power Tools: Wrenches, grinder, sander, drill, saws, etc.
• User-Moved Aids: Wheelbarrows, dollies, hand trucks, buckets, hoists, jacks, stepladders, full ladders, double ladders
• Mechanical Equipment: Motors, pumps, compressors, blowers, electric and hand-powered
• Measuring Devices: Voltmeters, ohmmeters, testing meters, PH tests, etc.
