Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our finance department. The Accountant will be responsible for managing and maintaining the integrity of our financial records, including recording transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, and assisting with the preparation of financial statements. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong understanding of accounting principles and a passion for accuracy.
Key Responsibilities

General Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger by preparing and posting journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Month-End Close: Assist in the timely execution of the month-end and year-end closing processes, including account reconciliations (bank accounts, credit cards, balance sheet accounts).

Accounts Payable (AP): Process vendor invoices, manage expense reports, and ensure timely and accurate payments.

Accounts Receivable (AR): Prepare and send customer invoices, monitor accounts for non-payment, and manage collections processes.

Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of key financial statements, including the Profit & Loss (P&L), Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cash Flows.

Compliance & Audit: Support the preparation of tax filings (sales, property, etc.) and assist with annual external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and systems to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Ad-Hoc Projects: Support the finance team with special projects, financial analysis, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2-4+ years of relevant accounting experience.
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, SUMIFs).
- Experience with accounting software such as [e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Xero, etc.].
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Experience with financial audits.
- Public and Private accounting experience is a plus.
