Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Boiler Project Manager to oversee the end-to-end installation, replacement, and modernization of commercial and multi-family residential boiler systems. In this role, you will lead projects from initial site evaluation and planning through mechanical installation, system testing, and final sign-off. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on knowledge of hydronic and steam systems, local building and safety codes, subcontractor management, and client communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Oversight & Planning:
• Manage full project lifecycles for boiler installations, boiler room retrofits, and related mechanical systems in commercial buildings and multi-family residences.
• Review blueprints, engineering specs, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) plans to define project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
• On-Site Leadership & Coordination:
• Supervise field crews, pipefitters, plumbers, electricians, and subcontractors on job sites to ensure quality craftsmanship and adherence to schedules.
• Conduct pre-installation site visits to assess layout, piping routing, venting, fuel delivery, and structural requirements.
• Permitting & Compliance:
• Ensure all installations comply with local building codes, ASME standards, environmental regulations, and safety requirements.
• Coordinate required municipal inspections, utility shutdowns, and sign-offs.
• Budget & Resource Management:
• Track project expenditures, manage change orders, and ensure projects are completed within budget constraints.
• Procure equipment, materials, and specialized tools needed for upcoming installations.
• Commissioning & Client Hand-off:
• Oversee system startup, pressure testing, burner tuning, and commissioning.
• Provide building owners, property managers, and facility teams with final walkthroughs, operational training, and maintenance documentation.

Qualifications & Skills

Required:

• Experience: 3–5+ years of project management experience specifically within mechanical contracting, HVAC, or commercial plumbing/piping industries.
• Technical Expertise: Strong technical background in high- and low-pressure steam boilers, hydronic heating systems, burner management, controls, and associated piping systems.
• Plan Reading: Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical engineering drawings, schematics, and P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).
• Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface effectively with property managers, engineers, field technicians, and inspectors.
• Problem-Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot unexpected job-site conditions and adapt schedules or methods seamlessly.
