Position Summary

The Senior Data Platform Engineer is a hands-on technical leader responsible for owning the performance, scalability, and governance of the company’s enterprise data platform. This individual will lead Snowflake infrastructure design and optimization, drive automation through continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and build internal tooling to support data engineering, analytics, and AI workflows across the company.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Owns and optimizes the company’s Snowflake environment, including architecture, query performance, and cost management.
  • Develops and maintains robust CI/CD pipelines (e.g., dbt Cloud, GitHub Actions, Snowflake Tasks) for safe and scalable deployments.
  • Implements and enforces data governance practices such as RBAC, auditing, and secure access provisioning.
  • Builds internal tooling and frameworks to support engineering and analytics teams (e.g., dbt macros, testing libraries, metadata cataloging).
  • Designs observability solutions including job monitoring, cost dashboards, and performance alerts.

The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proficiency in scripting/programming (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and tool development required.
  • Demonstrated success building internal tooling and scalable development frameworks required.
  • Deep understanding of data governance, compliance, and access control required.
  • Exposure to AI/ML data infrastructure and secure access design preferred.

Experience and Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, or infrastructure roles required.
  • Deep expertise in Snowflake, including performance tuning, architecture, and security required.
  • Strong experience designing and maintaining CI/CD workflows using dbt Cloud, GitHub Actions, and Snowflake-native tools required.
  • Snowflake SnowPro Core or Advanced Certifications preferred; AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional preferred; dbt Advanced Certification preferred.
