Essential Job Functions:
Ability to operate machinery as required
Verify part quantity with the job traveler
Make machine adjustments as required to maintain print specifications
Load and unload machines as per the cycle time noted on the traveler
Study and determine the part tolerances and methods of measurement for each job
Ability to run more than one machine maintaining run times as required
Set-up machines
Use micrometers, height gages, and optical comparators and visual checks for part inspection
Maintain clean and organized department and work area
Communicate with coworkers and supervisor as needed
Determine when wheels needs replacement
Assist in determining tooling & fixturing needs
Take parts to inspection when necessary
Use inspection methods to determine size changes
Analyze blueprints & travelers
Complete all necessary paperwork as required in a timely & accurate manner
Non-Essential Job Functions:
Train others as needed
Work on miscellaneous projects as needed
Conserves energy and organizational resources when possible
Qualifications
5 years + job shop precision OD and ID grinding STRONGLY PREFERRED (centerless grinding not applicable)
CNC familiarity strongly preferred
Ability to reading blueprints
Ability to think critically and ask questions of others in order to foster continuous learning efforts
Ability to use micrometers, indicators, and precision gages
Attention to detail
Maintain confidentiality
Develops alternative solutions when needed
Ability to multi-task
Ability to adhere to 6S and lean standards
Basic general inspection equipment knowledge and skills
Basic materials knowledge
Communication skills to train others as needed
Basic math & geometry skills
