Job Summary

The Maintenance Worker is a skilled, higher-level technician responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance of all facility systems. This role requires an advanced understanding of modern boiler systems, HVAC equipment, and building automation software. The Maintenance Worker diagnoses complex issues, performs advanced repairs, and provides guidance to Maintenance Laborers.

Key Responsibilities

  • HVAC & Boiler Operations: Monitor, troubleshoot, and perform preventative maintenance on modern boiler systems, commercial HVAC units, and related mechanical equipment.
  • Building Automation: Utilize Johnson Controls (or similar BAS/EMS software) to monitor heating and cooling issues, adjust setpoints, diagnose system alarms, and optimize energy efficiency.
  • Advanced Diagnostics: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and plumbing malfunctions and determine the appropriate corrective actions.
  • General Facilities Maintenance: Perform advanced carpentry, electrical, and plumbing repairs across the facility.
  • Team Collaboration: Lead complex repair projects and assist in training or directing the workflow of Maintenance Laborers.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: 3–5 years of experience in commercial facility maintenance, HVAC, or boiler operations.
  • Technical Savvy: Proficient with computers; direct experience with Johnson Controls Metasys or similar building automation systems is highly preferred.
  • Certifications: HVAC certification or a Boiler Operator license is a strong plus.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to read blueprints and technical schematics.


Hours are 6am to 3pm est
