About This Role

Join our client as they build on their Salesforce foundation. We’ve successfully implemented our initial phase and are now focused on launching the next critical milestones of our journey while developing a holistic enterprise roadmap across multiple orgs. We’re hiring a senior architect to set the technical direction for Salesforce at our client That covers our Salesforce instances, the clouds we run, and the systems they connect to (ERP, call center platform, Marketing Cloud, and data infrastructure).

As a Salesforce Architect, you’ll translate complex business challenges into elegant solutions that power how we serve thousands of customers globally. Plan on spending real time with end users and business leaders to understand how they work and to push back when a request won’t hold up at scale. On the architecture side, you’ll own the roadmap, make the design calls, and sign off on solutions from internal developers and admins, business analysts, our global IT service center, and implementation partners. However, this is not a role that tosses requirements over a wall to a development team. On the hands-on side, you’ll work in the org yourself: prototyping, building the complex or high-risk pieces, reviewing code, and unblocking the team when something is stuck. Expect the job to split roughly evenly between architecture and hands-on work.

If you’re passionate about technology enablement, love leading architectural decisions and platform strategy, and enjoy solving complex problems with measurable business impact, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Own

Architecture and Roadmap

•       Define the current, near-term, and future-state architecture for Salesforce and the systems around it, and keep the roadmap current as business priorities shift.

•       Set org strategy across Salesforce instances: what is shared and what stays separate, environment and sandbox strategy, and how changes move between them.

•       Design for scale from the start: large data volumes, data and ownership skew, record locking, governor limits at high volume, and archiving.

•       Lead tool, vendor, and AppExchange evaluations, including build versus buy, and hold third-party products to the same standards as custom work.

•       Decide where AI fits on the platform, including Agentforce and Data 360, with guardrails, testing, monitoring, and cost planned in from the beginning.

•       Present roadmap options and tradeoffs to leadership in plain language, with the cost, risk, and timing of each.

Design Authority and Delivery Oversight

•       Review and approve solution designs before build starts, whether the work comes from internal developers and admins, business analysts, our global IT service center, or an implementation partner.

•       Lead design and code reviews with substantive architectural feedback, and set the quality gates work must pass before it reaches production.

•       Set the standard for user stories and acceptance criteria in Given/When/Then format, and review stories so every criterion is testable and ready for sprint planning — and author them directly where the work is technical enough to warrant it..

•       Maintain architectural decision records and living documentation of the system, integration patterns, and the reasoning behind key designs.

•       Mentor developers, admins, and analysts so the team gets stronger without routing every decision through one person.

Hands-On Build

•       Build the complex or high-risk pieces yourself, such as prototypes, shared frameworks, and difficult Apex and Lightning Web Components (LWC) work.

•       Write bulk-safe Apex (classes, triggers, batch, queueable, and scheduled jobs) that respects governor limits: no queries or Data Manipulation Language (DML) statements inside loops, selective Salesforce Object Query Language (SOQL), attention to heap size, and configuration held in Custom Metadata instead of hard-coded values.

•       Build LWC interfaces that stay fast at volume, with server-side pagination for large record sets.

•       Own the data and sharing models (complex junction objects, multi-record-type Account structures, shared relationship models) and evolve them as the business grows.

•       Choose between configuration and code case by case, using Flow where it fits and keeping the org maintainable for whoever comes next.

Business Discovery

•       Join discovery sessions and working meetings with end users, front-line managers, and business leaders to understand current processes, pain points, and goals.

•       Ask the questions that surface unstated requirements and edge cases before they turn into production defects.

•       Partner with business analysts to turn requirements into technical specifications, data models, and designs.

•       Author user stories and acceptance criteria directly when the situation calls for it — particularly for technical debt reduction, integration work, and other cases where the requirements are technical enough that the architect is the right person to write them.

Integration Architecture

•       Design and implement the integration layer connecting Salesforce to the enterprise services that link Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), marketing automation, contact center, web, and data platforms.

•       Architect event-driven solutions using Platform Events, Change Data Capture, and middleware patterns for reliable, near real-time data synchronization.

•       Lead the design of bidirectional sync patterns, including which system owns each piece of master data, error handling (automatic retry, exponential backoff, manual re-trigger), and failure visibility for the business.

•       Plan Application Programming Interface (API) consumption and event volumes across integrations so limits hold as transaction volume grows.

•       Produce integration documentation: data flow diagrams, API contracts, and error handling specifications.

Contact Center and Case Management

•       Architect the integration between our contact center platform and Salesforce Omni-Channel, including screen pop, click-to-dial, activity logging, and routing.

•       Design the full case management lifecycle in Service Cloud: queues, assignment rules, escalation paths, and agent workspace configuration.

•       Make sure the contact center setup meets performance and usability benchmarks for Inside Sales and Customer Service Representatives.

Platform Governance and DevOps

•       Define and enforce development standards, naming conventions, governor limit strategy, and secure coding patterns for every team that builds in the org.

•       Own our Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline in Flosum: branching, environment management, automated testing, and deployment across sandboxes.

•       Manage org health proactively, from technical debt priorities to release impact analysis and dependency mapping.

•       Review each Salesforce release, test what affects us, and bring forward the features worth adopting.

•       Use AI-assisted development tools, both Salesforce-native and third-party, to deliver faster while keeping code correct and maintainable.

What You Bring

Experience and Skills

•       Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

•       Architecture experience: 10+ years in enterprise technology, including 7+ years on Salesforce and at least 4 years in a solution, technical, or enterprise architect role.

•       Hands-on depth: Current, hands-on skill in Apex, LWC, Flow, SOQL, and Salesforce Object Search Language (SOSL). You still build and review code regularly.

•       Implementations: Full-cycle implementations including Sales Cloud and Service Cloud, with proven Case Management delivery.

•       Integration: Integration architecture built from scratch, covering data modeling, REST APIs, Platform Events, Change Data Capture, middleware, and data platform integrations.

•       Scale: Designs that hold up under large data volumes, complex sharing models, and heavy transaction loads.

•       Contact center: Salesforce integration with a contact center platform through Omni-Channel, such as Genesys, NICE, Amazon Connect, or Cisco.

•       Distributed delivery: Leading design and quality across internal, offshore, and partner teams at the same time.

•       DevOps: Salesforce CI/CD experience covering branching, deployment strategy, and environment management. Flosum experience preferred, since it is our tool today; Copado, Salesforce DX, or similar also count.

•       Communication: Clear technical writing (designs, data flows, architecture diagrams, decision records, and user stories/acceptance criteria where the work is technical) and the ability to explain tradeoffs to executives and non-technical stakeholders without losing precision.

Certifications

•       Salesforce Application Architect or System Architect preferred.

•       Platform Developer II, integration architect, or data architect certifications are a plus.

•       Equivalent demonstrated experience counts in place of certifications.

Preferred Qualifications

•       Experience with Epicor Prophet 21 or similar ERP integrations.

•       Service Cloud experience beyond case management, such as Omni-Channel routing and Service Cloud Voice.

•       Marketing Cloud experience, including integration with Sales Cloud and Service Cloud.

•       Manufacturing Cloud experience.

•       Delivery experience with Agentforce or Data 360.

•       Experience in industrial, distribution, or manufacturing companies.

•       Experience at a company with complex business-to-business (B2B) sales and service operations.

How You’ll Be Measured

•       Business impact: Solutions measurably improve revenue enablement, customer experience, operational efficiency, or cycle time.

•       Roadmap: Leadership understands the roadmap and its tradeoffs, and delivery follows it.

•       Design quality: Designs hold up in production and scale without major rework.

•       Delivery teams: Internal, offshore, and partner teams deliver against your designs with little rework, and stories that pass your review can be built and tested without guesswork.

•       Delivery credibility: Estimates are reliable, and risks and blockers surface early.

•       Platform stewardship: Org health improves over time, and governance standards are adopted, not just written.

•       Team growth: Developers, admins, and analysts grow in skill and make more good decisions on their own.

What We Offer

•       Technical authority: You’ll be the senior Salesforce voice in the room, and your architecture decisions will carry real weight.

•       Professional growth: Company-sponsored certifications, access to Salesforce release previews, and room to take on more of the enterprise as the platform matures.

•       Collaborative team: A lean, capable team that values technical quality and will push back when something isn’t right.

•       Meaningful impact: What you design and build directly impacts millions of dollars in revenue and unlocks hundreds of hours of internal productivity.
