The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the strategic and operational decision-making of the organization. This position is responsible for developing financial models, producing insightful reports, and partnering with business units to deliver data-driven analysis. The Analyst will contribute to the finance team’s growth by proactively identifying opportunities, maintaining a high level of accuracy, and demonstrating a strong commitment to continuous learning and impact. 


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field 
  • 1-3 years of experience in FP&A, or accounting 
  • Familiarity with financial modeling, data analysis, and variance reporting 
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, V lookups, basic financial modeling) 
  • Experience with ERP systems and BI tools 
  • Solid understanding of financial statements and budgeting/forecasting processes 
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail 
  • Effective communicator with the ability to simplify complex data for non-finance stakeholders 
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities 
  • Technology enthusiast demonstrated through work experience, hobbies, and/or education  
  • Agile Mindset – the ability to work in an iterative manner that allows for rapid prototyping, effective feedback loops, and the ability to meet aggressive timelines 


CORE FUNCTIONS

Planning & Forecasting 

  • Contribute to the preparation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-range plans using a planning tool.  
  • Build and maintain financial models to support scenario analysis, cost tracking, and revenue forecasting.  
  • Gather and validate assumptions from business stakeholders to ensure accuracy and alignment. 

Reporting & Analysis 

  • Prepare and update monthly departmental reports, delivering clear and actionable variance analysis to highlight department performance indicators. 
  • Track and explain trends in KPIs, including revenue drivers, margins, and operational metrics. 
  • Provide data-driven insights to help leadership improve financial performance. 

Business Partnering 

  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Product Management to provide timely financial insights and decision support. 
  • Support business cases for new initiatives, product launches, and cost optimization opportunities. 

Process & Tool Improvements 

  • Help refine forecasting and budgeting to improve efficiency. 
  • Assist with building Power BI dashboards for financial analysis (i.e.  gross margin analysis) and Planful reporting enhancements. 


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Working conditions as found in a typical office location or a remote office location.
  • In-office expectations (Bolingbrook, IL) are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays based on our current in-office operating model. This model can change at any time, and the expectation is that all local team members are able and willing to come into the office on any day of the week, as needed. 
  • Ability to board a locomotive.

This position's anticipated base salary range is 63,000 to 88,000. At this time, this job is not eligible for sponsorship. Final compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and location. Hybrid: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday are in-office days at our corporate office in Bolingbrook, IL.
