Event Coordinator Intern

South LA Wine Club is a community-centered organization that creates inclusive wine education, curated tastings, cultural experiences, and events celebrating Black culture, hospitality, and connection. We partner with nonprofits, wineries, chefs, and community organizations to deliver memorable experiences while expanding access to wine education.

This role supports the planning and execution of South LA Wine Club events. You will assist with guest experience, vendor coordination, event setup and breakdown, inventory, registration, wine service support (where appropriate), and on-site logistics. Ideal candidates are dependable, personable, and excited about community events.


Event Coordinator Intern

We’re seeking an enthusiastic and organized Event Coordinator Intern to join our team! As an Event Coordinator Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced and exciting world of event planning. You will assist in the planning, coordinating, and executing a wide range of events, from corporate meetings to social gatherings. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced event professionals and develop key event management, communication, and problem-solving skills.


What will you do:

  • Assist in the planning and execution of events from start to finish, including logistics, scheduling, and coordinating with vendors, venues, and other stakeholders.
  • Help manage event timelines and ensure that all tasks are completed on schedule.
  • Support the team in creating event materials such as agendas, invitations, and promotional content.
  • Coordinate event registration, attendee lists, and communication.
  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of events, ensuring all necessary equipment, supplies, and materials are available and properly organized.
  • Attend events to provide on-the-ground support, troubleshooting, and managing any issues that arise during the event.
  • Research vendors, venues, and event options to help make informed decisions about event logistics and materials.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote events through social media and other channels.
  • Track budgets and assist in maintaining cost efficiency for events.
  • Contribute creative ideas for event themes, activities, and programs.
  • Gain additional knowledge and experience on wine, including tasting notes and food and wine pairing
  • Provide wine education to attendees and guests 


What should you have:

  • Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks at once.
  • A passion for event planning and enthusiasm for learning about the industry.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with event management software (e.g., Eventbrite) is a plus.
  • Experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently when necessary.
  • A positive attitude and a strong interest in pursuing a career in event planning or related fields.


More Details 

● Location: Los Angeles County (various event sites based in South LA and Inglewood)

● Pay: $25.00 per hour

● Start date: Flexible, preferred start by August - September 2026

● Hours per week: 10–20 (varies by event schedule)

● Duration: Ongoing, part-time event support
