Social Impact and Development Intern
Dolphin U is building something bigger than swim lessons. We’re on a mission to create safer communities by teaching life-saving water skills, building confidence in kids, and expanding access. Every class we run has a purpose behind it. Whether you’re on deck teaching, supporting operations in our workspace, or leading a team—your role directly impacts the experience we create and the mission we move forward.
We’re looking for a driven, community-minded intern to join our Social Impact & Development team and help expand access to water safety and swim education throughout our communities. This role is at the center of our community impact and growth. You’ll help connect families, supporters, and community partners to the mission of expanding access to water safety and swim education. From supporting scholarship initiatives to fundraising campaigns and community outreach, you’ll help ensure every interaction reflects the care, purpose, and energy that define our brand. You are not just supporting programs—you are helping create opportunities for children and families to gain confidence, safety skills, and life-changing access to the water.
What You’ll Help With
● Support fundraising campaigns and community initiatives
● Assist with donor and sponsor outreach
● Help organize scholarship applications and family communication
● Research potential community and corporate partners
● Assist with event planning and fundraising activations
● Help track outreach, donations, and partnership data
● Support social media and storytelling focused on community impact
● Assist with administrative projects and organization tasks
● Attend occasional community events and activations
What We’re Looking For
● Strong communication and organizational skills
● Passion for youth development, public health, community impact, or nonprofit work ● Positive attitude and willingness to learn
● Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment
● Familiarity with Google Workspace and social media platforms
● Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Bonus Skills (Not Required)
● Canva or graphic design experience
● Event planning experience
● Fundraising or nonprofit experience
● Photography/video content creation
● Marketing or communications background

LA County Subsidy Eligible Position Information
Subsidy roles require students to have an LA County based address, and be between the ages of 18-24 years old. Once you are placed in a subsidy eligible position you will be required to present the following documents to processed in a Youth Center (AJCC):
