Full Stack Software Development Intern 

Location: Remote

About the Role

We’re looking for a motivated and curious Full Stack Development Intern who’s eager to gain real-world experience building modern applications across web and mobile. You’ll work alongside our product and engineering teams to ship production-level code, contribute to new features, and help shape the future of the Flute platform. If you’re passionate about solving real problems, learning by doing, and mobile development, this opportunity is for you.

Note: This internship is part of the LA-Tech Talent Pipeline program and is designed to support career development through mentorship and hands-on experience.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with product designers to implement UI updates and new features
• Build efficient and reusable front-end components using React and React Native
• Contribute to backend development and help design scalable systems
• Identify and address performance issues and bugs
• Participate in code reviews and team standups
• Write unit tests and learn best practices for clean, maintainable code
• Explore fit algorithms to find and implement cost-effective solutions
• Learn how to ship features through a continuous deployment process
• Participate in mentorship, job shadowing, and other professional development activities

What We're Looking For

• A creative problem solver who pays attention to detail
• Eagerness to learn and contribute in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
• Some experience with React and/or React Native
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Bonus Points

• Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Familiarity with backend languages (Java, JavaScript, C++, etc.)
• Interest in optimizing app performance and scalability
• Exposure to version control tools (e.g., Git) and APIs
• Passion for mobile-first design and development

LA County Subsidy Eligible Position Information 

Subsidy roles require students to have an LA County based address, and be between the ages of 18-24 years old. Once you are placed in a subsidy eligible position you will be required to present the following documents to processed in a Youth Center (AJCC):

• Identification (School or State ID).
• Social Security Card (Please ensure that it is signed).
• Birth Certificate.
• Proof of Los Angeles County Residency, including a postmarked date (Report Card, Transcripts, or any mail that is under the applicant’s name).
• Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination OR valid medical/religious exemption.
• The Youth Center (AJCC) will be paying you for 160 completed hours.
• You will be required to submit timesheets to your youth center (AJCC) to be paid for your time worked.

NOTE: IF YOU WERE ALREADY PLACED IN A SUBSIDY ELIGIBLE POSITION, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO QUALIFY FOR ANOTHER SUBSIDY ELIGIBLE POSITION UNTIL JULY 1ST.
