Who Are We?

 

Kinlia is a fast-growing web and mobile platform whose mission is to address the social health/loneliness crisis through the use of AI. Our three spearhead products are:


1) AI-Powered Personalized Event Curation – AI crawls the web to create customized event lists based on user preferences.

2) Small Group Matching – AI matches people with shared interests into small groups, reducing social anxiety and increasing participation.

3) Empowering Community Builders – Kinlia is building a community of event organizers, connecting them to share resources and best practices while providing tools to promote events, engage attendees, and grow their communities.

 

Who Are You? 

 

Kinlia seeking a creative and driven Social Media Manager & Research Intern to join Kinlia’s team. In this role, you will develop and execute engaging social media strategies across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Twitter to increase brand awareness and audience engagement. You'll create visually appealing content, including graphics and short-form videos, while staying on top of trends to enhance visibility. 


Key Responsibilities


  • Develop and execute creative social media strategies to increase engagement and brand awareness on Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
  • Create, schedule, and post content (graphics, videos, stories, and text) that aligns with Kinlia’s brand voice and appeals to our target audience.
  • Monitor social media trends and leverage trending topics to enhance visibility and
  • engagement.
  • Engage with user comments and messages to build community and foster meaningful interactions.
  • Content Creation:
  • Design visually appealing social media graphics using Canva or similar tools.
  • Edit and optimize short-form videos for TikTok, Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
  • Write compelling captions and calls-to-action to increase audience engagement.
  • Develop influencer and user-generated content strategies to grow brand trust and visibility.
  • Market Research:
  • Research niche events in Kinlia’s key markets of New York, LA, and Bay Area (e.g., music festivals, art shows, dance, dinners) to support our event recommendations and social strategy.
  • Research competitor activity and industry best practices to identify growth opportunities.
  • Monitor and report on social media performance, providing actionable insights to improve content strategy.
  • Community Engagement:
  • Collaborate with Kinlia’s community and product teams to promote events and encourage user participation.
  • Engage with community builders and event organizers to build partnerships and increase visibility.
  • Feature community success stories and user-generated content to strengthen social proof and brand loyalty.

 

Qualifications


  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field [Flexible]
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and current trends (especially TikTok and Instagram).
  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze social media performance and adjust strategy based on data.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment and taking initiative.


Skills


  • Experience with video editing tools (e.g., CapCut, Adobe Premiere).
  • Familiarity with influencer marketing and social media algorithms.
  • Interest in event planning, community building, and social impact.
  • Understanding of niche markets (e.g., music events, wellness retreats, networking events).

Subsidy Role Information 


Subsidy roles require students to have an Los Angeles County based address, and be between the ages of 16-24 years old. Once you are placed in a subsidy eligible position you will be required to present the following documents to processed in a Youth Center (AJCC):


  • Identification (School or State ID)
  • Social Security Card (Please ensure that it is signed)
  • Birth Certificate
  • Proof of Los Angeles County Residency, including a postmarked date (Report Card, Transcripts, or any mail that is under the applicant’s name)
  • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination OR valid medical/religious exemption
  • Work Permit (Required for Youth between the ages of 16-17 only)
  • The Youth Center (AJCC) WILL BE PAYING YOU for 160 completed hours.
  • You will be required to submit Timesheets to your YOUTH CENTER (AJCC) to be paid for your time worked.


*NOTE IF YOU WERE ALREADY PLACED IN A SUBSIDY POSITION (ACADEMY/INTERNSHIP). YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO QUALIFY FOR SUBSIDY ROLES UNTIL JULY 2025*
