ROOTED — BACKGROUND
Rooted is a neighborhood fitness + wellness studio in Inglewood. We exist because many families here don’t have a simple, welcoming place to get healthy—big gyms feel confusing, pricey, and not built for them.
Our solution: real-life fitness and wellness for every generation. That means low-impact,
functional training that fits any age, body, or size. Plus practical wellness skills—basic nutrition,
gardening, and stress/mood tools. In plain terms: safe workouts and simple habits that busy kids, teens, adults, and seniors can actually stick with—together.

ROLE OVERVIEW
Help Rooted tell its story on social to get more followers and generate more new-business leads. You’ll plan content, make short videos, post on IG/TikTok, and chat with our community to turn views into followers and followers into sign-ups. This is on-site at Rooted (1623 Centinela Ave, Inglewood, CA 90302), five days a week, four hours a day. May be some flexibility with work from home as system is in place.
DELIVERABLES
- Content strategy + calendar: A simple plan that explains what Rooted offers, what makes us different, and why to sign up—covering the full funnel (awareness → interest → consideration → intent → evaluation → purchase).
- Instagram growth: Make our IG look legit and grow followers to 3,000+ in 8 weeks with consistent posts, Reels, and stories.
- TikTok launch: Start our TikTok and run a content plan/calendar to reach 1,000+ followers in 8 weeks.
- Handoff playbook: Create a clear, step-by-step playbook so the team can run the program after you leave. Include: process checklists, content calendar template, posting schedule, caption/hashtag guidelines, video/editing settings, engagement scripts, KPIs to track, sample posts templates.

LEARNING GOALS
- Learn how to figure out who we’re talking to and what they care about.
- Practice writing simple, catchy hooks that make people want to click or show up.
- Build a basic content calendar (what to post, where, and when).
- Learn to shoot and edit short videos on our phone (Reels/TikTok).
- Learn basic design for posts (Canva: text on photos, simple layouts).
- Understand brand voice—how Rooted should sound in every post.
- Use hashtags, titles, and hooks to get more views. Understand the algorithm.
- Do community engagement: reply to comments/DMs and start friendly conversations.
- Read simple analytics (views, likes, saves, follows) and decide what to try next.
- Run tiny experiments (post A vs. post B) to learn what works.
- Work like a pro: plan, deliver on time, and communicate clearly with the team.
WHAT YOU’LL DO DAILY (≈4 HRS/DAY, 5 DAYS = 20 HRS/WEEK)
- Capture quick clips/photos in the studio.
- Edit short Reels/TikToks in CapCut or Canva; add captions and music.
- Post and schedule content; keep our simple content calendar up to date.
- Reply to DMs/comments within 24 hrs; reshare member stories; welcome new followers.
- Track basics (views, likes, saves, follows) and log what worked / what didn’t.
- Pull 1–2 member quotes each week for testimonials.
- Brainstorm with the team; bring 3 to 5 post ideas each week.
- Organize files in a shared folder; name and tag assets so they’re easy to find.
- End-of-week mini report: wins, learnings, and next week’s plan.
WHAT YOU SHOULD ALREADY KNOW
- How to shoot steady, well-lit phone video and clear photos.
- CapCut and/or Canva basics (trim, captions, music, simple graphics).
- Instagram & TikTok features (Reels, Stories, tags, hashtags, scheduling).
- Writing short, catchy hooks and friendly captions in a consistent voice.
- Reading simple analytics and turning them into next steps.
- Keeping a content calendar and hitting deadlines.
- Professional, positive communication with members on DMs/comments.
- Reliable, on-time, and comfortable working on-site in Inglewood.
- Nice-to-have: basic Spanish, comfort being on camera, interest in fitness/wellness.
- Basic analytics: read insights and spot patterns.
- Reliable, organized, and comfortable talking to people on camera.
- Excellent communication abilities
