Software Development Intern


We are seeking a Software Development Intern to support the continued development of Hued’s

web platform and data infrastructure. This role is a hands-on opportunity to build real product

features while learning how web development, data systems, and ethical technology come

together in an early-stage fashion-tech startup.


What You Will Do:

  • Support the maintenance and expansion of Hued’s website, which showcases aggregated
  • fashion insights sourced from platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and Substack
  • Help build user-facing features that allow individuals to voluntarily contribute selected
  • data to the platform
  • Assist in implementing transparent consent flows and structured data collection processes
  • Contribute to the integration of an existing retail-facing product into Hued’s broader web
  • infrastructure
  • Work with multiple data sources and support ongoing data ingestion efforts


Collaborate with a data analyst to:

  • Improve and maintain data pipelines
  • Automate portions of data ingestion and processing workflows
  • Explore lightweight AI or machine learning enhancements that streamline insight generation
  • Help implement access controls, permissions, and basic usage tracking to protect proprietary data outputs


What You Should Have:

  • Foundational knowledge of web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Experience or coursework using a modern framework (React, Next.js, Vue, or similar)
  • Basic familiarity with backend development (Node.js, Python, or similar)
  • Understanding of APIs and data flow concepts
  • Comfort using Git and collaborative development tools
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Interest in data, consumer technology, or fashion-tech is a plus


More Details:

  • Location: Remote, with opportunities for optional hybrid collaboration (Complimentary lunches + networking opportunities within Hued’s broader startup community) in Los Angeles
  • Pay: County Subsidy Wage
  • Hours per week: 20
  • Duration: 8 weeks, with potential for extension (if funding allows)

LA County Subsidy Eligible Position Information 


Subsidy roles require students to have an LA County based address, and be between the ages of 18-24 years old. Once you are placed in a subsidy eligible position you will be required to present the following documents to processed in a Youth Center (AJCC):


  • Identification (School or State ID).
  • Social Security Card (Please ensure that it is signed).
  • Birth Certificate.
  • Proof of Los Angeles County Residency, including a postmarked date (Report Card, Transcripts, or any mail that is under the applicant’s name).
  • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination OR valid medical/religious exemption.
  • The Youth Center (AJCC) will be paying you for 160 completed hours.
  • You will be required to submit timesheets to your youth center (AJCC) to be paid for your time worked.


NOTE: IF YOU WERE ALREADY PLACED IN A SUBSIDY ELIGIBLE POSITION, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO QUALIFY FOR ANOTHER SUBSIDY ELIGIBLE POSITION UNTIL JULY 1ST.
