Operations & Logistics Intern
Location: Remote (must be available during peak delivery hours, which are typically 9 am–12:30 pm and 2 pm–5:30 pm PT, including some weekends if possible)
Type: Internship (Subsidized – 160 hours)
Compensation: $17.87/hour
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the CRM order board during peak hours to track active deliveries and flag issues.
- Follow up with restaurants that haven’t accepted orders within a set timeframe by sending reminders or making quick outreach.
- Use the CRM to locate nearby drivers and contact them to assign deliveries.
- Communicate with restaurants via phone, email, or text to confirm details and resolve order-related issues.
- Coordinate with drivers to provide routing support and resolve common delivery issues using established SOPs.
- Track and confirm delivery completions through the CRM, log issues, and escalate as needed.
Skills:
- Strong multitasking and communication skills
- Comfortable using web-based dashboards and CRM tools
- Reliable with attention to detail (important for time-sensitive coordination)
- Calm under pressure and solution-oriented
- Familiarity with delivery apps (Uber Eats, DoorDash, etc.) is a plus
Experience:
- Prior experience in logistics, dispatch, customer service, or food delivery support is preferred but not required
- Internship or assistant-level experience in an operations or logistics role is a plus
- Comfortable with light script-based phone and text outreach
Bonus:
- Experience using Twilio, Google Voice, or WhatsApp Business
- Familiarity with Google Sheets or CRMs
- Spanish-speaking or multilingual is a bonus (but not required)
LA County Subsidy Eligible Position Information
Subsidy roles require students to have an LA County based address, and be between the ages of 18-24 years old. Once you are placed in a subsidy eligible position you will be required to present the following documents to processed in a Youth Center (AJCC):
- Identification (School or State ID).
- Social Security Card (Please ensure that it is signed).
- Birth Certificate.
- Proof of Los Angeles County Residency, including a postmarked date (Report Card, Transcripts, or any mail that is under the applicant’s name).
- Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination OR valid medical/religious exemption.
- The Youth Center (AJCC) will be paying you for 160 completed hours.
- You will be required to submit timesheets to your youth center (AJCC) to be paid for your time worked.
NOTE: IF YOU WERE ALREADY PLACED IN A SUBSIDY ELIGIBLE POSITION, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO QUALIFY FOR ANOTHER SUBSIDY ELIGIBLE POSITION UNTIL JULY 1ST.
