Position: Social Media Manager Intern

Location: Remote/Flexible

Reports To: Marketing Director/Community Lead

Role Overview

This hybrid position is responsible for strategic social media management on LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok while cultivating an engaged virtual community for a college-focused beauty club. The ideal candidate will create compelling content, facilitate online events with beauty leaders, and develop vibrant online conversations that connect students and foster brand loyalty.

Key Responsibilities

• Social Media Strategy & Content Creation
• Develop and execute content calendars for LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok, aligned with brand voice and marketing goals.
• Create original posts, stories, reels, and videos that educate, inform, and inspire college students.
• Respond to messages, comments, and DMs in real-time to grow relationships with followers.
• Analyze and present weekly and monthly social metrics, offering recommendations for audience growth.
• Online Community Management
• Facilitate the growth and engagement of the online beauty club, nurturing a positive and inclusive space for college students.
• Plan and moderate virtual panel discussions featuring beauty founders, industry experts, and student leaders.
• Encourage active participation through challenges, Q&As, polls, and member highlights.
• Brand Advocacy & Collaboration
• Engage with campus influencers, student groups, and beauty partners for collaborations and curated online events.
• Identify community trends, feedback, and insights to share with the broader marketing and product teams.
• Event Coordination & Support
• Organize and coordinate logistics for virtual panels (speaker outreach, marketing, invites, technical setup).
• Post-event: Gather feedback, review participation analytics, and summarize best practices.

Skills and Qualifications

• Experience managing branded social accounts (LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok) with proven results.
• Strong written, visual, and video storytelling ability.
• Comfortable moderating online events and fostering interactive group discussions.
• Passion for beauty, youth culture, and inclusive community building.
• Organized, proactive, and highly responsive communicator.

Work Hours & Compensation

• Part-time or flexible remote schedule; some evening or weekend hours for virtual events.

LA County Subsidy Eligible Position Information 

Subsidy roles require students to have an LA County based address, and be between the ages of 18-24 years old. Once you are placed in a subsidy eligible position you will be required to present the following documents to processed in a Youth Center (AJCC):

• Identification (School or State ID).
• Social Security Card (Please ensure that it is signed).
• Birth Certificate.
• Proof of Los Angeles County Residency, including a postmarked date (Report Card, Transcripts, or any mail that is under the applicant’s name).
• Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination OR valid medical/religious exemption.
• The Youth Center (AJCC) will be paying you for 160 completed hours.
• You will be required to submit timesheets to your youth center (AJCC) to be paid for your time worked.

NOTE: IF YOU WERE ALREADY PLACED IN A SUBSIDY ELIGIBLE POSITION, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO QUALIFY FOR ANOTHER SUBSIDY ELIGIBLE POSITION UNTIL JULY 1ST.
