Who Are We?


Selects is an active beauty brand for female athletes. We make clean, inclusive, on-the-go products to support female athletes in their training. We are also passionate about increasing diversity and mental-health awareness in sport.


Who Are You? 


As the social media, marketing & research intern, you will help the company build out its social media presence, develop their visual branding elements, and communicate with the growing Selects community, among other things. Your responsibilities will include creating social media content, conducting research, designing brand assets, writing for our blog, compiling and analyzing relevant data, and helping with SEO optimization. The role requires design skills, technical proficiency, and creative chops. 

 

Responsibilities


  • Create and implement brand guidelines
  • Create and implement a social media strategy and calendar
  • Design social media templates for Instagram and TikTok
  • Create, edit, publish, and distribute compelling content each on week on Instagram, TikTok, and other social-media platforms 
  • Assist in concepting and designing various marketing materials – key art, logo, banners, web, emails, social, presentations, etc.
  • Assist in creating and publishing email newsletters
  • Create a data room and keep track of SEO and online traffic stats
  • Compile and analyze survey data
  • Implement SEO tools (e.g., implementing Google Tags across all web properties)
  • Conduct industry, market, competitor, product, and customer research, and compile reports of findings
  • Write and publish blog posts on brand website
  •  Maintain and update databases, spreadsheets, and other records to ensure accurate information is readily available for decision-making.
  • Performs other related activities as assigned

 

Qualifications 


  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Practical knowledge of content management, editing, and creation tools 
  • Ability to work in Notion, Canva, Wix, Flodesk, Typeform, Google Suite (Mail, Docs, Sheets) & Adobe Photoshop
  • Outstanding copywriting abilities
  • Capability to deliver original content (text, image, and video)
  • Excellent understanding of SEO, keyword research, and Google Analytics
  • Understanding of online marketing channels
  • Excellent communication abilities
  • Proficient in analytical and multitasking abilities 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to put complex topics and procedures into simple terms.


Subsidy Role Information


Subsidy roles require students to have an Los Angeles County based address, and be between the ages of 18-24 years old. Once you are placed in a subsidy eligible position you will be required to present the following documents to processed in a Youth Center (AJCC):

  • Identification (School or State ID)
  • Social Security Card (Please ensure that it is signed)
  • Birth Certificate
  • Proof of Los Angeles County Residency, including a postmarked date (Report Card, Transcripts, or any mail that is under the applicant’s name)
  • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination OR valid medical/religious exemption
  • Work Permit (Required for Youth between the ages of 16-17 only)
  • The Youth Center (AJCC) WILL BE PAYING YOU for 160 completed hours.You will be required to submit Timesheets to your YOUTH CENTER (AJCC) to be paid for your time worked.


*NOTE IF YOU WERE ALREADY PLACED IN A SUBSIDY POSITION (ACADEMY/INTERNSHIP). YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO QUALIFY FOR SUBSIDY ROLES UNTIL JULY 2025*

 

 Position Summary


As the social media, marketing & research intern, you will help the company build out its social media presence, develop their visual branding elements, and communicate with the growing Selects community, among other things.

  • Open to ages 18-24 ONLY
  • Location: Remote (with option for periodic in-person meetings and co-working sessions, as needed)
  • Pay: $17.78/hour
  • Start date: TBD
  • Hours per week: 10 hours per/week
  • Duration: 160 hours
