SoilWise was officially founded in July 2023 by community soil scientist Lynn Fang, MS, and ecological landscaper Ricky Martin. We are dedicated to creating healing landscapes and healthy soils. Our mission is to nurture abundance from the ground up, foster thriving ecosystems, and create spaces of healing for all.

Our services include post-fire soil contaminant testing and bioremediation, ecological landscape design, installation, and maintenance, as well as soil health education and consulting.

Marketing Outreach Intern 

We are seeking a motivated and creative Marketing Outreach Intern who will play a key role in promoting specific programs, events, and services, as well as expanding our brand presence and engaging with target audiences across various channels. This internship is a hands-on opportunity to develop strategic marketing skills while supporting campaigns, content creation, and community engagement.

What You Will Do:

• Assist in the creation and execution of marketing outreach strategies
• Conduct market research to identify trends, target demographics, and new opportunities
• Craft compelling email campaigns, newsletters, and social media content to boost engagement
• Collaborate with team members to execute promotional events and digital campaigns
• Maintain contact lists and track outreach metrics for optimization
• Support the development of presentations, reports, and promotional materials
• Identify partnership opportunities with student groups, influencers, and campus organizations
• Stay current on marketing best practices and industry trends

What You Should Have:

• Familiarity with platforms like Canva, Instagram, and social media schedulers (Hootsuite, Buffer, etc.) is a plus
• Excellent writing, communication, and storytelling skills
• Organized, proactive, and detail-oriented
• Eager to learn, contribute ideas, and take initiative

More Details:

• Location: Hybrid
• Pay: $17.87/hr
• Start date: TBD
• Duration: 160 hours

LA County Subsidy Eligible Position Information 

Subsidy roles require students to have an LA County based address, and be between the ages of 18-24 years old. Once you are placed in a subsidy eligible position you will be required to present the following documents to processed in a Youth Center (AJCC):

• Identification (School or State ID).
• Social Security Card (Please ensure that it is signed).
• Birth Certificate.
• Proof of Los Angeles County Residency, including a postmarked date (Report Card, Transcripts, or any mail that is under the applicant’s name).
• Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination OR valid medical/religious exemption.
• The Youth Center (AJCC) will be paying you for 160 completed hours.
• You will be required to submit timesheets to your youth center (AJCC) to be paid for your time worked.

NOTE: IF YOU WERE ALREADY PLACED IN A SUBSIDY ELIGIBLE POSITION, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO QUALIFY FOR ANOTHER SUBSIDY ELIGIBLE POSITION UNTIL JULY 1ST.
