Marketing Generalist Intern
About SUMA
At SUMA, we aren't just a financial app; we are a movement. We are the financial co-pilot for the generation of firsts. The first to go to college, the first to become executives, the first to start businesses, and the first to build lasting wealth.
Money can be stressful, but it doesn’t have to be. Through our AI coaches Santi and Sofi, we help our community see their whole financial life in one place—from credit and loans to investments and retirement. We turn fragmented info into a simple roadmap so our community can build wealth for themselves and generations to come.
Are you ready to help us close the wealth gap and make "money talk" easier for everyone?
The Role
We are looking for a Marketing Generalist Intern who is hungry to learn and ready to make an impact. This isn't your typical "coffee-run" internship. You’ll be right in the mix of the full marketing world—from crafting viral social content and storytelling to digging into the data that helps us grow.
You’ll work closely with our team to support initiatives that grow the SUMA brand, engage our community, and drive real results. If you’re curious, creative, and organized, we want to help you build your roadmap to a successful marketing career.
What You'll Do (The Hustle)
-
Tell the Story: Support the creation of fresh content for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, email, and our blog. You’ll help turn complex financial topics into easy-to-understand (and fun!) content.
-
Launch with Us: Assist in planning and executing marketing campaigns from the first "big idea" to the final launch.
-
Know the Community: Conduct market and audience research to help us understand what our community needs to hear most.
-
Check the Dashboard: Help track and analyze how our campaigns are doing. We love data because it helps us serve our community better.
-
Collaborate: Work across the team—from design to product—to make sure the SUMA voice stays consistent and powerful.
-
Experiment: Contribute to SEO, paid media, and influencer partnerships. We love new ideas!
- Grow: Participate in brainstorms, creative reviews, and mentorship opportunities designed to help you level up.
What You Should Have (The Skills)
-
The Vibe: A deep interest in marketing, communications, and helping people build wealth.
-
The Words: Strong written and verbal communication skills. You know how to talk to the community, not at them.
-
The Tech: You’re a native on social media (Instagram, TikTok, etc.) and know what makes people stop scrolling.
-
The Drive: You can manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and stay organized in a fast-moving environment.
-
The Eye: A creative eye for detail—you care about how things look and feel.
-
The Data: You speak the language of growth. You know your way around CTR, CPM, and conversion rates, and you use those numbers to tell a story.
Bonus Points
(The Extra Sauce- but not at all necessary)
- You’ve played around with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or Figma.
- You have some experience with Mailchimp or HubSpot.
- You’ve peeked at Google Analytics or other data tools.
- You’re interested in brand strategy, copywriting, or growth marketing.
- You understand the "First Gen" experience and are passionate about financial inclusion.
Why Join SUMA?
- You’ll get real-world experience at a mission-driven fintech startup. You’ll develop a strong portfolio of live work and get a front-row seat to how a modern brand is built. Most importantly, you’ll be part of a team that believes that when you understand how money works, you can change your future—and the future of your family.
