Marketing and Outreach Intern

House of Mosaic Candles is an artisanal candle brand offering clean-burning, vegan candles designed to elevate the home environment and enhance personal well-being. With a mission to provide high-quality, eco-conscious products, the company focuses on sustainable practices, aromatherapy benefits, and aesthetic design. The product line features over 30 unique scents, each crafted to promote relaxation, eliminate odors, and evoke positive emotions.


Marketing Outreach Intern 

We are seeking a motivated and creative Marketing Outreach Intern who will play a key role in expanding our brand presence and engaging with target audiences across various channels. This internship is a hands-on opportunity to develop strategic marketing skills while supporting campaigns, content creation, and community engagement.


What You Will Do:

  • Assist in the creation and execution of marketing outreach strategies
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, target demographics, and new opportunities both B2C as well as B2B
  • Craft compelling email campaigns, newsletters, and social media content to boost engagement
  • Collaborate with team members to execute promotional events and digital campaigns
  • Maintain contact lists and track outreach metrics for optimization
  • Support the development of presentations, reports, and promotional materials
  • Identify partnership opportunities with student groups, influencers, and campus organizations
  • Stay current on marketing best practices and industry trends
  • Creatively share content on multiple platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Linkedin, YouTube, and Facebook
  • Explore local media outlets to determine feasibility to amplify brand message, including local radio stations, public television, etc. 


What You Should Have:

  • Familiarity with platforms like Canva, Mailchimp, and social media schedulers (Hootsuite, Buffer, etc.) is a plus
  • Excellent writing, communication, and storytelling skills
  • Organized, proactive, and detail-oriented
  • Eager to learn, contribute ideas, and take initiative


More Details:

  • Location: Remote
  • Pay: $17.87
  • Start date: As soon as possible
  • Hours per week: 15 hours/week
  • Duration: 10.5 weeks


Who You Will Be Working With:

Toni Shaw, Founder and Chief Creative. Toni has been creating amazingly scented candles in her hometown of South Los Angeles since 2016. She is committed to ensuring that every candle produced is made with care, includes premium ingredients and is sustainable. Currently, Toni is the sole employee of the business and as such is involved at every level. Toni is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has an interest in how aromatherapy can positively impact mood. Additionally, she has researched how participating in creative events can build community, decrease stress, and increase mood. This research impacts product development and informs the creative programming and workshops that House of Mosaic offers.

LA County Subsidy Eligible Position Information 


Subsidy roles require students to have an LA County based address, and be between the ages of 18-24 years old. Once you are placed in a subsidy eligible position you will be required to present the following documents to processed in a Youth Center (AJCC):


  • Identification (School or State ID).
  • Social Security Card (Please ensure that it is signed).
  • Birth Certificate.
  • Proof of Los Angeles County Residency, including a postmarked date (Report Card, Transcripts, or any mail that is under the applicant’s name).
  • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination OR valid medical/religious exemption.
  • The Youth Center (AJCC) will be paying you for 160 completed hours.
  • You will be required to submit timesheets to your youth center (AJCC) to be paid for your time worked.


NOTE: IF YOU WERE ALREADY PLACED IN A SUBSIDY ELIGIBLE POSITION, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO QUALIFY FOR ANOTHER SUBSIDY ELIGIBLE POSITION UNTIL JULY 1ST.
