TutorD is reimagining the educational experience for all stakeholders, by allowing educators to meet their audience where they are while being able to effectively extend the learning experience and drive impactful engagement towards learner outcomes.  As we prepare for our soft launch 2 months, we are seeking passionate students who thrive in a fast-paced environment and want to apply CS concepts to real world projects. This opportunity provides an individual with the experience of supporting production workloads and users, and responding to real customer feedback and delivering features/ functionality to production, taking ownership and pride in your part of TutorD. Our Software Engineering team is responsible for many of TutorD’s innovations, we work alongside our customers and partners closely to understand their needs and support their efforts in facilitating the learning experience and capturing the necessary data to make more informed decisions towards workforce trainer and learner outcomes.


What You’ll Do

Your work will consist of all opportunities for the team listed below:


Applications Engineering

  • We are currently looking for an intern to help architect, build, manage and operate the Infrastructure & applications for TutorD’s Engineering teams including 3rd Party API Integrations, and automated tests and tools to support our efforts. In this role, you will participate in the plan, design, implementation as well as manage ongoing Infrastructure components that powers the development of TutorD’s underlying technologies and core user experiences


Business Ops & Infrastructure

  • The Application Infrastructure Engineering team designs and implements a small set of services and tools that power our internal and external software and processes. The projects you support will have a significant impact on the business and will allow us to grow at exceptional speeds. A strong candidate will either be an excellent software generalist, or experience in JavaScript FullStack implementations


Service Software Engineering

  • MERRRN Stack - MongoDB, Expressjs, Reactjs, Reduxjs, Redis, Nodejs
  • The Service Engineering team develops tools, processes, and informational content that multiplies the efforts of the field support team. They bridge the gap between what happens with our products in the field and how they’re designed in engineering. Interns on this team will work on areas ranging from software tools for diagnostics to product support


What You’ll Bring

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following frameworks: JavaScript, NextJS, Jekyllrb, GoLang
  • Experience with building and/or maintaining JavaScript Applications, infrastructure and services
  • Excellent grasp of fundamental computer science concepts and ability to write well-organized code.
  • Eagerness to collaborate cross-functionally with other engineerings and across other teams while able to work independently with direction; detail-oriented and execution focused
  • Genuine curiosity and willingness to understand how our products are designed, built and how they operate
  • Must haves: JavaScript, React, JSX, CSS, MongoDB
  • Nice to haves: React, CSS MongoDB, RedisDB, AWS ECS Fargate, Jekyll, Nodejs, Express, Terraform, Docker, AWS Cloud


 

Subsidy Role Information 


Subsidy roles require students to have an Los Angeles County based address, and be between the ages of 18-24 years old. Once you are placed in a subsidy eligible position you will be required to present the following documents to processed in a Youth Center (AJCC):

  • Identification (School or State ID)
  • Social Security Card (Please ensure that it is signed)
  • Birth Certificate
  • Proof of Los Angeles County Residency, including a postmarked date (Report Card, Transcripts, or any mail that is under the applicant’s name)
  • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination OR valid medical/religious exemption
  • Work Permit (Required for Youth between the ages of 16-17 only)
  • The Youth Center (AJCC) WILL BE PAYING YOU for 160 completed hours.
  • You will be required to submit Timesheets to your YOUTH CENTER (AJCC) to be paid for your time worked.


*NOTE IF YOU WERE ALREADY PLACED IN A SUBSIDY POSITION (ACADEMY/INTERNSHIP). YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO QUALIFY FOR SUBSIDY ROLES UNTIL JULY 2026*

 

Position Summary

 

  • TutorD is seeking fullstack cloud developer intern to help build and support core infrastructure, applications, and services ahead of its soft launch. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to apply CS concepts to real-world projects, collaborate cross-functionally, and contribute directly to a next-gen EdTech platform using modern full-stack technologies like JavaScript, React, and MongoDB.
  • Los Angeles, Remote
  • Open to 18-24 ONLY
